Love of the Game - ECNL vs DA Marketing Messages

I saw this article on the D'Feeters site and a it resonated with me. Anyone else? Disclamer: No current ties to D'Feeters.

Yes, I can see why 'Feet posted this b/c it appears to me that the article is slightly biased towards ECNL marketing message of instilling leadership into strong, capable young women. Who wouldn't like that?

What resonated with me is that we talk all day long on this forum on what coach is better, what team/club is better, higher ranked etc. But as a parent I should primarily be an encouragement to my kid to step onto that pitch, be it APL, PPL, LH, CH, ECNL or this fall DA, and just take a deep breath, be thankful that you can play with such competition and just love the beautiful game.

This is for me btw, as I've been guilty at times comparing my kid to others or wishing she was on this team or that. Time to enjoy the journey a bit more, do your best, love the game and let the chips fall where they may.

If there's a case of "falling on deaf ears" this would be it....
Let's see, currently on the forum there are constructive topics such as:

1. Ranking teams of 8 year olds
2. An argument over the benefits of being in a high level league versus a double secret league that doesn't keep score.
3. Is an 07 coach an ass or not?
4. Which team of 12 year olds will get relegated, shunned, and made to wear a scarlet PPL on their frocks.
5. Why can't a coach who says they are a professional come up with a D license.

I saw a ranking today for 7u baseball teams where a local team was "ranked 4th in the nation".... In COACHES PITCH baseball.

It's everywhere, not just here with our DD's.
