"TOO MANY LEAGUES" is what killed the board.
We get our enjoyment from the Leagues being a "Play up or Play down" format (Rec to PPL...PPL to LH3...LH3 to LH2...LH2 to LH1...LH1 to ECNL). The best teams always(for the most part) rose to the top and it was fun to watch which teams "rise and fall"
With TCL coming on (aka Money Grab), PrimeTime, NPL (the ugly, younger step sister to ECNL/DA that thinks because they travel they are revelant) and now DA (along with ECNL).....Nobody knows who is better, no team is ever a complete roster anymore to discuss "how" they won, not enough people watching those games or taking an active interest watching them.
People have given up any care they had on what they consider the best team/league.
I'll bet this forum will get back to old form next Spring around DIGC time ... ECNL vs DA --

I don't know about "no team" but to your point we played a team last week where there are really only 12 kids on the roster, yet 18 or so on the bench. On game day they shuffle as needed from DA and ECNL. I really feel for that manager having such a variable pool of parents and players to communicate with and organize on game days and tournaments.
I've mentioned this before, but just to clarify ...
A player rostered with any (non 'pilot') USSDA team is not able to participate in a match with an ECNL (or any other competitive) team. I know some on here have said that they've heard of this or even seen it, but it simply isn't possible. It can however go the other way if the non USSDA rostered player has been identified as a 'Developmental Player', but this is restricted to a 6 month window with restrictions on game appearances.
Well, Big E, I don't know the DA rules and don't really run in those circles or follow those teams. However the coach himself told me he played 5 DA girls that game. Two-thirds of the players had plain club jerseys, and maybe an about a third had the DA jersey. I'm not really upset about it...kinda like getting upset at the refs. They are gonna do what they do an no amount of complaining from parents is gonna change anything. You either learn to roll with the punches or go find something else to do.

From what I see and hear the rules do not matter till combined years. Besides they are not Fed rules just rules that could be ignored or changed to suit the year, club, or situation. Many of the older girls are playing HS this year.Zizou wrote:If I have not made a mistake, a DA player has to play in six games to be considered a full time DA participant. I’m pretty sure in the beginning of the season players on the bubble could be moved down before reaching that full time statis. Even so the opposite could be said for players moving up the chain.

So in attempt to (once again) put this to bed ...
Some of you are hearing or seeing, wrong. The rules are the rules for U14, U15, U16/17 and U18/19. Once a player signs the USSF contract to participate in USSDA (not USYS and not governed by NTSSA), they are committed to that league year (10 months). They are then "full time" as Zizou mentioned and are not permitted to participate in other soccer matches, other than for the youth National teams. The one exception is that it is at the discretion of each member club to allow a player to participate in their high school matches.
The "bubble" player Zizou is referring to is the DP (Developmental Player). This kid can participate in a maximum of 6 matches unless they are added to the roster as a "full time" player. The DP players also have to be announced 10 days prior to the USSDA match they are to play in to be able to be added to the roster for that match ... not a lot of 'last minute' roster swapping going on.
RightWing's implausible tale is likely involving both the U13 age group (pilot) and the Texans (likely to be fined and if all of these claims are true, lose their designation).

Re: No More BW!
This isn’t what is being disputed, I don’t think. We can read the rules too. I as well as most the others get what they say. That doesn’t mean that is how they are being implemented. Should they follow the rules that they set? Sure I guess so, but when you need said players to field a proper team those rules start to be dismissed, and in some cases forgotten. Whether they have the will/want to fine or take away a clubs designation, I guess we will see.BigErn wrote:Alrighty.

Yes all mighty Z many of the DA players have already been told they can play HS. Despite what your brain is telling you, it is true. All? No. But many. Sort of sad really, all those players that did not try DA because of that are now kicking themselves.Zizou wrote:KeeperCommander wrote:From what I see and hear the rules do not matter till combined years. Speaking of again -- per usual, SoS can't seem to read through a post ...
"A player rostered with any (non 'pilot') USSDA team is not able to participate in a match with an ECNL (or any other competitive) team."
And you seem to have forgotten the most pertinent of words used in this thread ... implausible. If RightWing is in bed with KC here and is calling out the FCD DA U16s, I can unequivocally call bullsh*t on that one --

Yes, I saw your assumptions and your unknowing "implausible tale" - pulled again from your ASS and based again upon what you ASSume to be true.
Maybe if you get your FACTS together first before throwing around your wild assumptions (again), then you wouldn't look like such an (admittedly) pompous know-it-all.

Oooooh (wince) ..... Fantastic demonstration of the sensitivity of an 8th grade girl there SoS.
How bout you go back and read what you just wrote then have a look at what you are attempting to pull off (guessing that is trying to make me look stupid)? Maybe let us know why I would need to get any "FACTS" together when making an educated guess ...
"RightWing's implausible tale is likely involving both the U13 age group (pilot) and the Texans (likely to be fined and if all of these claims are true, lose their designation)."
And by God, while it isn't likely true anyway, it did turn out to be a pilot team didn't it? Hmmm ... ?
Remember Sir ... we've already discussed this -- I come across as pompous to folks like you given the vast distance between my place and yours out there. And yes ... I absolutely do know more than you when it comes to this stuff. Let's stop wasting your time trying to contest anything I have to say and leave that to others that are a bit more qualified, eh?
Now go get your fu*%ing shine box!

Re: No More BW!
You come on here making assumptions and calling out teams (U13 Texans) based on your preconceived notions of what you think is "likely".
U13 was wrong
Texans was wrong
But that didn't stop you from throwing your "likely" accusations out there.
Apparently your "educated" guess (educated based on what exactly? apparently not facts) was pretty un-educated.
The vast distance between my place and yours? If being in your place turns someone into a pompous jackass like you - wouldn't want to be there. You take that same attitude to work, given the vast distance between you and "folks like me"?
