Good afternoon.  I was looking for some feedback on Showcases.  My DD is heading to Orlando next week and as of now there will be about 250 coaches there.  We will throw as many noodles as we can toward D1, 2 and 3 coaches and see who watches her, etc.  We have sent emails, with profiles and video to those colleges she is interested in and 9 have responded so far that they are coming to see her.  Many of them are also pitching their ID camps.  This is where I was looking for some perspective.

Is the showcase sufficient or is that a ground for coaches to generate revenue? I would think that if they are impressed with a player they may want to track them, or make them an offer.  We obviously can’t do too many ID camps otherwise we would be away every weekend outside the state.  Any words of wisdom from your experiences would be appreciated.  She’s a pretty good player in LH and has an offer on the table from one of the best D3 programs in the country.   We missed last winters camps/showcases into the summer this year because of surgery, but she made 3 camps in late July and got an offer from the 3rd.  So I’m just trying to strategize how to best position her during her Junior year. She's a strong player who always gets positive attention.  Thanks all!

Showcase tips requested Empty Showcase

I'll give you some input Nolan.  It seems everyone is focused on BW but happy to help a fellow parent.  My oldest daughter did that Showcase a couple of years ago.  Our mistake is we didn't send out enough emails.  So send out emails to coaches, send a highlight video with it.  Then have your kid call them.  That's tricky because of school but if she's good, then a call gets their attention.  Also, put a profile together and take 100 copies.  Have her hang out after her games and meet whatever coaches she can, take cards and hand the profiles out.  Don't be picky because it's good to be able to say no later. As for ID camps, if she wants D1 she probably will need to visit them but she will already be high on the radar.  I hope that helps and good luck.
