Mutiny/Solar merge?

Overheard in a coversation - Mutiny and Solar will be merging with Solar taking over Mutiny FC teams at the end of the season.

Has anyone else heard any rumblings of this?

Doesn't make solar better, just adds $$$ to the coffers.

Bring some "ECNL kicking out DA clubs", or "ECNL going international" type news for reaction.

There won't be any free equipment with this transition. I agree I am ready to hear who wins and who loses.

No, your incorrect. Mutiny’s ship was sailing in the right direction quickly. They also have access to a well organized rec program that feeds young players into their programs. Mutiny is exclusive to Wylie and has access to most all the players in the city. So Meth Man, instead of talking just to hear yourself talk. Do a little research.

If it is all about the feed in from a rec program, then this is all about money for Solar.  Just like FC Dallas has shown, you form/acquire as many academy and low level teams as possible to feed the DA animal.  Solar having no pro money coming in, this was an absolute necessity.  The Mutiny ship was maybe moving in the right direction but it had a very low ceiling.  This maybe good for them but the only thing it does for Solar is trickle money into the DA war chest.  

No research needed.

Which makes it beneficial for both parties involved.

If the ship was sailing Zizou then why abandon, my radar was showing SOS. The Pearl came for its bounty. Do your research Zizou you can retake the test and get an 85. F GRADE IS FAILING.

I tend to agree with Medicine Man - I have heard grumblings of unrest from Mutiny as of late, particularly from a couple of teams. I think with the onset of DA, they saw the writing on the wall that no small clubs will get exposure and they knew that any talent they have/had in their ranks was about to jump ship. This smells like a rescue call.

Zizou - where was the ship "sailing" to? Highest ranked teams were LH Div 2, no ECNL (and likely would/will never get one), a carousel of coaches, etc etc

No surprise here.... Year 2 of the 5 year plan that leads to no mid size clubs. More will fall by the time the summer gets here. The top leagues/Programs DA ECNL JDL XYZ ODP PQR will continue to focus on the big 3 Clubs and in some cases the leagues/Programs will cease to exist all together.... There is a Rabbit Hole worth exploring...

What League is gone by the fall??

DA will contract and minimize. The writing on the wall. ECNL was just an extension of LH. DA is it's own beast.

LHGCL was a huge step up for Mutiny. Once DA and ECNL took all the talent out of LHGCL Mutiny was in high cotton just qualifying teams into LHGCL. The Solar buyout gives those players in Wylie the opportunity at ECNL and DA again something they did not have before.

Solar is moving ECNL and DA teams to Wylie?  Say it isn't so!

Or maybe you meant that the girls from Wylie weren't previously allowed to try out for DA or ECNL teams, due to where the live.  Unlike players who live, say, in Haltom City, Rockwall, Waco, Burleson, DeSoto, etc., which are all probably further from Solar DA and ECNL practice locations.

Last I checked, they had the same opportunity as everyone else.

It's a heck a lot better just to say marketshare if I was Zizou. The pool of young kids yet to pay.

Let’s just watch and see what will happen in the spring. My opinion, this is a good situation for both groups involved. Mutiny’s admin is a prideful bunch and have done a excellent job bringing select soccer to the Wylie community as a independent club. The fact is on at least the female side of things their are players from Mutiny that deserve an opportunity at the next level. Associating themselves with Solar could open doors that otherwise might not be opened due to the lack of exposure and street cred of Mutiny.
