06 - DTS

05 - San Jose, Texan ECNL or FCD DA should be the favorites but I'm going with Feet ECNL for the upset. Saw them play Tophat in Houston last week and I think they are very close to topping the Texans.

04 - Albion or FCD DA. If I had to chose one I would go with the underdog.

2018 DIGC Predictions Empty Re: 2018 DIGC Predictions

Post by Big Ern 26/02/18, 09:48 am

I (like most I imagine) know very little about any of the Internationals.  Gonna be a fun tourney, and I'd expect the U13 and U14 groups to be the most competitive ...

For the '05s, I'd guess the Quakes, Feet ECNL, Texans ECNL and FCD DA will be battling it out.

For the '04s, I've heard that Nacka out of Sweden are tough, both FCD and Solar DAs are strong, and I'd expect the both Albion and Sting ECNL will be very tough to beat.

I'd guess that Texans DA wins the '03 group without much trouble.

The '02 Mexican NT is no joke ... saw 'em play in CA in the Fall -- smallish, but very strong both technically + tactically.

I like the Heat FC out of Vegas to give Texans DA a run in the '01 group.

I have heard about half dz folks say that 02 NT is no joke. Guess we will see what that means in a few weeks.

It will be a nice send off at least until all the teams change again in the next cycle.

2018 DIGC Predictions Empty Re: 2018 DIGC Predictions

Post by CrazySoccerParent 28/02/18, 07:14 pm

Researched the current standings of all these teams to create a marginally educated guess at the seeding and groupings for DIGC for the 14s

What if the brackets look like this for the 14s? Who wins each group and who would be the 3 wildcards?

I didn't however research the international teams... I have my limits

Group A
FC Dallas U14 Girls DA (TX)
Sting TCL Composite 04
Glen Shields FC (Canada)
Instituto Britanico 04 (Mexico)

Group B
Albion Hurricanes 04G ECNL (TX)
Dallas Texans U14 DA (TX)
Blackburn Rovers Ladies 04 (England)
Ottawa South United 04G Dribble Black (Canada)

Group C
SOLAR USSDA U14G (TX)
Dallas Texans ECNL U14 (TX)
Oshawa Kicks Synergy (Canada)
YESUNG-U14 (Korea Republic)

Group D
Sting Dallas 04 ECNL (TX)
Solar SC ECNL U14 (TX)
FC Dallas 04g ECNL (TX)
Nacka FC (Sweden)

Group F
D'Feeters 04 ECNL (TX)
Solar 04G Rodriguez TCL (TX)
AHFC 04 Elite (TX)
Venom 04 (CA)

Impressive work Crazy. I'd go with FCD, Albion, Solar, Sting and Feet and wildcards of Nacka, Oshawa and Instituto. Picking Albion for the upset.

Going to be a fun tournament to watch.

My Group Play predictions:
Group A 1st - Solar DA
Group B 1st - FC Dallas DA (Possibly the toughest group)
Group C 1st Yesung - U14 (Korea Republic) - Apparently this team is legit
Group D - this may be the most evenly matched group... Feet could have their hands full in every game and I expect wildcard(s) to come from this group with a few ties along the way, ultimately I expect Feet wins this group
Group E 1st Albion ECNL also another WC might come from this group as well

Im not familiar with Albion, but Solar DA's opportunity to have 3 games in vs FCD DA just starting can be a determining factor. If FCD hits peak form at the time of the tournament Id expect them to take it. But if they are playing catch up to Solar's head start to this season, then it may be close.

Have you seen FCD DA schedule next couple weeks. Real Co, Rush and Solar again... call me crazy but sounds like the perfect run up to this Tourney.

Going to make for one heck of a tournament

Holy smokes FCD Da 04 vs Sting ECNL 04 right out of the gate. Let the chatter begin.

2 predictions: FCD wins 3-1 And we see a lot of high flying balls over the FCD back line... what is it she calls it?? Not send it but something else that is code for send it. Wish I could recall.

So lame we have become.

Some good games this weekend.

What is more surprising about the DA activities this weekend:
1. FCD losing 3-0 to Real Colorado
2. FCD beating Colorado Rush 5-1
3. Real Colorado only scoring 6 on Dallas Texans
4. Texans getting a red card and playing down a man vs Rush and giving up 3 goals while down

Sorry I didn't clarify AG ... 3 was most surprising.

Real CO isn't #1 for nothing ... Very well coached and absolutely stacked with multi generational athletes.  Two U14 YNT and another U15 YNT on that roster -- the FCD 04s are a relatively big + strong team, but they make us look a couple years younger.

Sounds like Colorado stole a page from the NTX play book. Size and aggression trumps skill at this age. Kudos to them for figuring this out.

Sounds like you weren't there to see those kids ...

A lot of size yes, but very technical + high IQ -- Physical "aggression" had little to nothing to do with their success on Saturday.
