The "letter" was initially removed 3 or 4 times due to the language.  Even when quoting another person, you cannot post that type of language on the forum.  I asked the poster to edit, taking out the language which after several attempts was done.  Last time it was removed due to a request by the poster.   I have no affiliation with or about the age group, club, and I have never met the coach.  

As far as the letter goes, I cannot confirm that it was actually sent to the board, and I have no way to determine if the letter is accurate.  I've been told the letter was sent anonymously, which is a red flag.  It was supposedly sent out to several people, but when I asked for it to be forwarded to me I was denied.   I'd prefer to keep it off the forum.  Besides, if the situation occurred as described, I would sign it and take ownership of the complaint.    I would talk to the coach directly and take my DD and $$ elsewhere if the explanation or situation wasn't to my liking.  Then I would post on the forum every day about my direct experience and also click on at least 5 banner ads an hour - every day - all day.  What was really expected to happen, sending an anonymous letters telling a club their coach is a meany?  If the coach sucks and isn't right for you, there are other places to play.  It isn't like this happened the day after signing day.

Admin can you give us examples of things we can say in "Quotes".  For example can we say, that the coach told our daughters that "Suzy was playing like an old wooden piece of ship".?  

Also, I believe this was addressed previously, but if we have text message conversations with the coach cursing, can we screenshot that and post it?

Politics is in full effect that hasn't changed carry on w the reindeer games. If this is the case then those parents are responsible for their kids.

He coached my daughter for several years and I will say this- he is one of the top 5 coaches in north Texas. I have run across few who are more prepared or dedicated to their players. But he does expect the same level of commitment from his players and parents. Those who do not match that level will find themselves in a bad place with him. If coaches are abusing your kids then if you are ok w that so be it. If not leave simple as that. Kids will thrive in situations where they are of equal yoke and others who are the total opposite and require a more logical approach.

Too many overly sensitive parents out there. They want their kids to play at the next level, but if their kids can't, aren't willing or simply will not put in the extra effort it takes to play at the next level, then they get upset when the coach has to lay down some serious reality checks. Then, when their kid gets cut, the coach is labeled as a bully and abuses his players.

Well I can only tell you my experience with the coach which was for several years and during that time he never abused my kid. He didn’t treat her like a snowflake, but like a mature young woman responsible for her own actions. She grew up a lot playing for him. I think what she liked the most was knowing what he expected from her and being held accountable to that. But nothing close to abuse ever.  Not for me or my kid. Just my experience.

Unfortunately DeltaTC, the few that realize why it is genius are all about gone.

Do you think the abuse coaching gets better or worse when they get to college?

The vocabulary used by coaches reflects their IQ level.

I think it depends on the coach. In all sports, at all levels, there are different styles of coaching. Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks that feel if their kid is yelled at or reprimanded in a way they don't agree with, then it is abuse. Rather than looking ahead at how college coaches are, look back at coaches 20-30 years ago. Expectations were known each player was held accountable.

What I've seen and heard, both on the club and college side, is only a small sliver of the entire landscape, so I'm definitely no expert.  Of the small sliver that I have seen and heard, I don't think there's much difference.  There's some major A-holes coaching in club and there's some major A-holes coaching in college.  Overall, I don't see a big difference.  More dependent on the specific coach and specific situation.
