Just checking if I'm looking at it wrong - do you expect your coach to coach just your team or have multiple teams on the field at the same time ? I understand if there is a need to help out when another coach got sick etc. - but is that normal to do it all the time ?

Not sure what the norm is, but I would be concerned if there are an unmanageable amount of players or the teams were at different ages/levels. It would probably depend on the age of the players and specifics. I think it would be difficult to be productive with 20+ academy level kids at the same time.

I expect things not to change after I sign the contract.

If the training situation will be out of the ordinary (one coach, one team), that should be clear before signing (or ask).

I have seen coaches who may have multiple teams overlapping, or practice 2 teams with assistant coaches, or even pooled ECNL / D1 teams practicing together.

This should be a moment of connection between you and the coach. Take this opportunity to challenge the coach, and say "Is there any chance you could take the current practice roster of 30 kids, and make it around 50."

Wasn't the situation when we signed - changed in the last 6-7months.

Have no clue - I'm not even sure there was other coach - likely just reshuffle of training times so that they got stacked.

Coaches that have too many teams will do this. Dont get caught w your panties down and train w less talent.

If your coach has more than 3 teams expect conflicts this isnt uncommon anywhere do the math practices games tournaments.etc etc.
