Re: Dad Just Figuring This Out
Posted about this in Boys section as it is way too hot top be playing 70 minutes games in 110 heat with a higher heat index. They could possibly fix the problem by having the games start at 7:00am and play the last games at 9:00pm but games at 11:00 and 3:30 don't make any sense.
hope the tournament directors have a plan and/or cancel.

To the Dad just figuring it out.
I have put two DD's to college one with an 80% and other with a 75% athletic scholarship. The remaining was paid in full with grades and other scholarship applications.
My advice to you is I have seen many many top level girls out there at this age when my kids were this age. What people don't understand is every kids muscles and brains develop at different times. Just because a kid is a power house kid right now does not mean that they will be a powerhouse kid in 6-8 years. With Girls I saw top girls throw away soccer scholarships for boyfriends in HS. I saw Girls get burnt out from the hard core select soccer play and training from so many years of parental and team pressure. I see parents taking the game so serious that it causes problems at home with the spouse and did see a few divorces along the way. Divorces caused some great talent to not be able to play anymore. Dont forget a top FCD team down the road can follow a coach to another club or more changes with ECNL and DA rules cause a team to break apart. Another the age group chart could change again and break up a team.
I AM GOING TO END IT HERE AND TAKE IT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH... THE KEY TO SUCCESS AND I THINK WE ALL KNOW ITS A SUCCESS TO END UP WITH A SCHOLARSHIP, IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR KID IS HAPPY AND SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS. YOUR KIDDO IS SURE TO SUCCEED IF THEY WANT TO PRACTICE AND WANT TO BE WITH FRIENDS. IF YOU ARE HOLDING YOUR KID AWAY FROM THOSE TWO THINGS DON'T EXPECT A GOOD OUTCOME IN COLLEGE.
JUST MY 2CENTS - from a proud daddy of two who has many grey hairs from the long roads we went down. was not that fun looking back but my girls have great memories.
