Comparing uruguain to dfw metro resources

Why are we fooling ourselves with DA, ECNL,  D1 crap ? Could we learn something from Uruguain soccer system ?

Just not that simple.   85% of kids 6 to 13 play soccer.  It is a soccer country.  It is part of their soul.  Soccer is just becoming part of the US framework.  It has grown here with 2 of the 3 sports station having shows dedicated to soccer.   With participation up and with folks that when I got here 20 years ago teasing folks about soccer now at least taking in a match or two.  However, when US is not in the world cup and I see comments like why watch ( probably one of the best world cups in recent memory) you realize there is still a long way to go before this becomes a soccer nation.  America needs a superstar and understanding of what I think is the most beautiful game in the world.

BTW have you seen their Basketball, tennis, track, hockey, volleyball or any other team. The answer is no. The country is dedicated to Futbol and that creates great players. Just a thought.

First of all soccer in DFW is a business, coaches and clubs are more interested in making money than developing kids.  You can see proof of this everywhere for example, coaches poaching from other teams and not working together for the better development of players.

FC Dallas is a classic example of this, you would think the coaches work together but they don't.  Their focus is on winning to attract more parents aka pay checks.

US chances are severely deprived of true development and we can thank the pay to play system.
