HS coach recruits for club

Are there rules against hs coaches pushing players toward the club they work for?

Don't know, would guess there are, but it has never mattered as it has been going on for years.

Don't know about TAPPS/SPC, but UIL rules prevent HS coach from coaching the players outside of HS (i.e. club) once they are HS age.

As for Coach "pushing" or "marketing" their club, it's grey area.

If the Coach makes or implies that playing for his/her club is some kind of condition for making or getting PT on the HS team, pretty sure that would violate some kind of UIL rule.

However if coach is simply saying to a player(s) that they would benefit (general benefit - no guarantee of making a team or getting PT) from playing for a club team at a certain level and mentions a team(s) within their club that would be a good option...  I don't necessarily see that as a problem.  If in the same conversation, they disparage another club/team, or push their club/team over another club team... that's a little darker grey, and crossing an ethical line, if not outright breaking any rule.

Coaches are such scoundrels. I slept with my dds coach to get her more playing time and it didn't happen. Come to find out the coach I slept with was the baseball coach. Just plain wrong.
