From my perspective, Sting '07 has been in an unusual position. First, Sting got a late start on the '07s for some reason. Tatu seemed to turn that around, but Tatu and Glotzbach were splitting the top Sting talent -- and Heinz (what happened to Heinz, by the way) actually had a pretty good team as well but didn't play LH in u11.

My point is not that any of those teams could compete in DA, but that if they combine and consolidate the Sting talent, with a little time to play together, they might get there. I assume Tatu's team is not the same team that played last season. Can 3 top 20 teams combine to make one top 10 team? We'll see.

Since this now appears to be the 07G thread, anybody know why Solar ECNL got booted out of their own tournament last week and had to forfeit the semifinal?

Sting: Flanagan got blown up in last half of U10 to create Texans Salazar, and remnants fled Sting putting them behind in the 07 age group. Flanny was 3rd or 4th best at the time and good team.

Heinz: Red card event playing KW's White Walkers in QT hurt them a bit

Solar: Illegal player(DA player not on ECNL roster) is the word on the street.

Same, but those 8-0 games were highly competitive and provided for some good IG and FB posts.

But yes you are correct they did, others were scattered around I guess.

Did they all play under fake names? Some of those girls are pretty recognizable.

Being recognizable is what got them caught. Apparently, some of the girls on opposing teams recognized them from DA practices and tryouts.

How does that work exactly? The refs were checking rosters prior to our games. Does mom or manager whisper to the kid, hey, remember your name is not Susie today?

So a Solar 08 team playing up in 07 against other Solar 08 teams in a Solar Tournament brought several 07 DA players and ran up the score against their fellow 08’s? Then a Solar 07 ECNL team used a DA player to play against another Solar ECNL team? Is this real?

Let's set some things straight.

Solar 07 ECNL had this player you are referring to on their roster. They played 06's, she is an 07. They forfeited the final game.

Next the 08 team and 07 were told by Solar they needed to enter an 07 team. They did. Neither group was playing until asked to play. This team also had an 09 on the field, who managed to score in just about every game. They probably should have played 06 but would not have been safe for girls to play 2-3 years up.

From the sound of it, looks like you got it pretty spot on, with the additional detail that some were apparently given a false name and player card to use.

Whoa. What’s going on at Solar? Anyone know what the deal is with the 09 super group they are putting together from the top teams? I heard people are losing their minds over not being invited.

Two issues with your statements: 1) you don't address why Solar 07G ECNL had to forfeit. If she was rostered, then why would a Solar tournament disqualify them? Not buying it. 2) Picky here, but there's no issue with an 09 playing up 2 years if she's surrounded with a slew of 07 DA players. There's certainly precedent for that .. in Frontier.

From what I understand, one of the dads happens to be a Kicks coach, took a few to a handful of girls. Hhe was the one coaching from the parents sideline non-stop and obviously not happy with the way Heinz was coaching. This may have led to others departing. Another few ended up on Adames roster. Shame b/c this was a good team that should have taken one of Sting's D1 spot.
