playing up a year in select
playing up a year in select
Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone gone through this before and stayed with their team through the transition to select from academy?

I have heard from others that in first year of select, she won't be able to stay with them and will have to drop back down and join up with her true-age team. Then after her true-age team goes to select, she still has to stay with them for 1 year. After that, (2 years later) she can join up again with her current team playing up.

At U10 she cant play with a u11 team if they play a NTX Soccer sanctioned league(like LHGCL or JDL). If they play a US Club only league/tourney, then she can stay.
Once U11, you can play up as much as you want, so she may bypass U11 and straight to U12 if you want.

Your daughter cannot play up into U11 in any North Texas Youth Soccer sanctioned competitive league, Lake Highlands is the best example. Once she is of U11 age herself she can try out for and play for as old of a team as she can make. My daughter played U12 her first year in select instead of U11.

I wonder what the reason for that rule is. If they can play up at U11 while technically U10, why do they stop that? Especially if they allow it one year later. Doesn't make sense to me.
