At this point, I assume we aren't getting kids together to play soccer until June, at the earliest.
Tryout season is probably a bust? Putting together teams for the fall is going to be quite difficult, especially for ages starting U11 and U13 play (10s and 08s) where rosters expand and there is usually a lot of movement.

First World problem...  Something tells me we'll figure it out.  

Of course we will. I assume your point is that it’s irrelevant in the big picture of what is happening in the world right now, and you’re 100% right.
But this place is a distraction from that, and it’s ok to talk about such things. Perhaps even helpful.

It would seem the state needs to be thinking about (maybe they are) how the clock will work when there is no state cup or any of the other usual triggers for deciding when tryouts and signups can occur.

Can someone call the pros and cons of this ordeal in regards to soccer?
Not to minimize the more important issues in life and society...but just in the soccer realm.

Normally the teams would finish the regular season, then perhaps go to an out of town tournament. Then come sometime in June(?) coaches would shuffle and start looking to put together next year's team. Teams moving up to U-13 would expand their roster to play 11 v 11. And new contracts would be signed after July 1(?). The major clubs would lobby ECNL vs GDA and teams in the same club might combine or set up an A team, B team. And the clubs would claim their Lake Highlands spots. Do not know how moving up or down in divisions in Lake Highlands works, but some of that would happen.

All of that was on a pretty established schedule with players that had been playing and practicing and are in shape. Now who knows when practices can start and how players will have been able to stay in soccer shape.
