Cannot figure out how some D-1 coaches can come to the event when I thought this was a D-1 dead period. Clearly some D-1's think so, no U. of Florida, no Florida State or Miami U.

No DIs are coming. They might be registered, but will not be attending in person. The scout registrations for DIs are meaningless. I'm sure many will watch online though.

"Effective November 18, the NCAA suspension of all in-person recruiting for D1 sports is extended through April 15, 2021. Coaches are not allowed to meet face-to-face with a recruit off campus or do any in-person scouting. However, strength and conditioning coaches have been allowed to virtually observe workouts if specifically requested by the student-athlete. The NCAA has also encouraged all colleges to stop all official and unofficial visits. Recruiting will not stop completely; coaches and recruits can still communicate over email, phone, text and social media."
I read this as D1 schools cannot do in-person scouting but they can certainly watch live stream and on-demand videos from these events. I would assume that they are registering to signal to potential recruits that they will be watching these games.

Wording is a little confusing. Is not watching live stream and on demand only allowed for strength and conditioning coaches as a "virtual" observing? On the other hand it is not "in person".

Looked on the website for the showcase and they remark D-1 coaches can follow live or download and watch later.
