Sting Royal likely has some hard work ahead in order to avoid the same fate as Celtic.

In addition to the Energy/Celtic swap, the league would be MUCH better if they moved the Sting Royal ECNL teams to RL and moved the Solar RL teams to ECNL.

Of anybody, Solar should have had two ECNL teams this year, and it shouldnt be hard to fix the mistake.

This is being voted on. DKSC should receive the same consideration.

Why not incorporate some sort of promotion/relegation and expand the league?

It requires an even number of teams in order to keep travel partners in place. For Year 1, it might look like this...

In Oklahoma you'd have Energy and TSC in ECNL, with WSA and Celtic in RL.

In Dallas you'd have Solar, FCD, Texans, DKSC, Sting A, and Sting B in ECNL. With Solar B, FCD B, Texans B, DKSC B, Sting C, and BVB in RL.

In Central Texas you'd have Sting Austin and Classics Elite in ECNL with Lonestar, Sting Austin B, Classics Elite B, and... I don't know...one of either SA City or Austin Texans or Lonestar B in RL.

In Houston you'd have Challenge and Albion in ECNL with Challenge B, Albion B, Dash, and Rise in RL.


At the end of the season, if you are an RL team averaging 2+ PPG across all age groups and an ECNL team in your city averages less than 1 PPG, then you play a home and home series with the winner playing in ECNL and the loser playing in RL until the same thing happens again.


So that makes 12 ECNL clubs and 16 RL "clubs" (split RL into a North and South division of 8 teams each to limit travel slightly and they play two games in their own division and only one game against the other division). Maybe incorporate some sort of FA Cup knockout tournament where all ECNL and RL teams in an age group can compete.

Maybe do the same pro/rel with the bottom RL teams and the top ECRL-NTX and ECRL-USC "clubs."

Now you have a single league with all the right clubs and the opportunity to earn your way into ECNL (or earn your way out).

How about NO “RL” teams in ECNL. There isn’t even enough top talent to fill the clubs / teams that are already there! Need less, not more! IMO - any current RL team will end up at the bottom of the standings, solar included (similar to Sting Royal - exc their u14)

Looks like semifinals are set (quarterfinals for 06s).
5 teams are advancing from the Texas Conference...

4 Solar teams (08, 07, 06, and 04)
1 Challenge team (06).

A little disappointing none of the DKSC and FCD teams had things break their way. The FCD 04s lost a heartbreaker quarterfinal vs Solar on Pks.

And now the rain.

Solar 05s also had probably the best comeback in the playoffs so far against, arguably, the top team in 05; PDA Blue. They were down 0-4 with 20 mins to go, tied it up 4-4, but lost in the 7th round of PKs. Solar only had a couple of subs, but they had significantly more gas in the tank at the end than PDA. It was just too little, too late, and PKs are almost always unpredictable.

Actually the only 05 team in Texas to make it out of bracket play, never mind the Dallas area.

Congratulations Solar for representing NTX extremely well. Solar has done a great job of consolidating top talent from all over the country, except for the 05 age group. I suspect they'll be working on that group as well.

So be wildly Happy happy that Solar 05 had an easy bracket and and made it out of the bracket play on Goal Differential and not on points.  
Solar 05 was fortunate to be in a weaker bracket compared to Feet /Fcd .
Yes, i agree with you none of the NTX teams made it to Final 4 in 05 age group.

This is a weak age group in general which is not surprising when you look at the coaches assigned to the teams. A bunch of has been's and a few never were's at the ECNL clubs, with the exception of DKSC.

Why keep JB with Solar 05? The coach is the reason that team won’t be #1. But they will still beat Texans.

Ironic so many national team pool players in 05 age group from fcd and solar. Yet the age group is weak. Not sure who is kissing whose a$$.
