Considering a Bobby Moffat camp for U11 DD this summer. Can't find much on him but it appears he has been around for a while. Any input?

Thanks.

Bobby is older and has been around awhile. He is knowledgable and very good with younger kids. Also happens to be a good guy, who, IMO, still cares about the players/game. Not just a job for him. Still has that British accent, so has to be good, right? Wink He does run a lot of skills sessions for the rec side of LHSA and has helped/transitioned several younger promising rec players to the club level. I wouldn't consider his camp high powered, but is very good for skills and confidence building if your dd needs a little boost. There will be some more serious kids at his camps along with some kids still playing with the line chalk. He will focus on the kids who want to get something out of the camp and will provide "babysitting" for the others.

A co-worker's daughter decided to try soccer at age 11and loved it. But, starting late, had a lot of catching up. Her dd went to Bobby and with non- judgemental/non-threatening coaching he helped get her to a point where she was able to win a spot on a club team and play keeper for her middle school.

Great guy, knows the game and has some good coaches on board - highly recommend him.

I disagree with the above. While he might be good for a U11 at a small session/private session, the camps, in my experience are for itty bitties. My then U8 was bored because there were way too many times where balls were thrown into a mix of kids, and then they were encouraged to chase it by the 18-19 year olds in charge. Not fun.

Bobby Moffat camps are mostly recreational camps

Yes. However, if Bobby sees you rolling your eyes he will insist you tell him what is bothering you instead of looking the other way (this of course assumes he is actually present).
