I would imagine that most parents think that all vacancies are filled while most coaches are still looking for 1-2 more players.

The rosters are never set until July 1......the parents might think it is set and the coach might even think it is set, but one call from a top talent and that all changes.
I know this is not an isolated case, but we once had a long standing player cut from our team the night before signing, because a top player decided to make a last minute change. The parents were told their son would make the roster and the coach probably thought that was solid at the time, but you never know until you sign.

Some parents are hoping that all vacancies are filled. Some others are with the coach and hoping that game-changer shows up last minute.

Agree. I've always been of the belief that pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered. If they don't fill those spots by Monday it will just go to show that money can't buy everything. And that some parents still value their word and their commitments instead of being swayed solely by the sparkle of some ranking. It will be interesting to see who those parents are who jump ship last minute.
