Viewing the results so far, I would say the only surprise is the Texans team letting in 4 against D3 teams. Nothing against the D3 teams, but this is a team that most top 5 teams have trouble scoring on.

Could be absences of key players due to the long Prez' day weekend.

I thought Group D would have a little more GD being the only bracket with 2 D1 vs 2 PPL teams. A little surprised at those outcomes and draws.

Agh maybe the gap between D3 and D1 6-20 (certainly 11-20) not that big, if any. After looking at recent tournament results, With the exception of the top 3-5 teams, any team on any given weekend could win.

Ahhh. It's just a warmup tourney. The Texans are probably just knocking some rust off.

Odyssey is a good team. They play the ball well into space, connect their passes, do not panic and do not take bad shots. When they play like they did last night, they could give any team outside the top 3 a good game.

No, no one is out on long weekend. Our girls are going through an adjustment period since the once focal point of the offense is no longer with the team.

They are having to play more as a team and accept new pressures and responsibilities. They will be a better team once they adjust. I just hope it happens before they play DT South and Solar Red in the first two games of the season.

The goalkeeper for the Texans also let in a shot in both games that 9 out of 10 times she will save. But I have heard through the grapevine that she is changing her colors from purple to green for the next game which should solve the issue  Very Happy

Do you all think the D3 teams get pumped up to play D1 teams or are the girls too young too feel that type of motivation/internal drive?

Yes, especially the teams who had the capability of playing in D1 and did not make it in for one reason or another. 11 yr olds do have the desire to prove themselves. If it is of course made aware to them that - that is what they are doing!

The low scores overall have been surprising. The texans being shutout both games so far also is surprising. With or without their previous offensive weapon. I expected a few times to dominate their brackets. Sting G, and FCD Gold being the main ones. So far, it looks like the tournament director did a pretty good job.

03 DTS South's normal keeper is out sick for the tournament. Creates some last minute switching player positions from their normal within their team. Hopefully they will come out strong tomorrow.

Anyone know how Sting Goodman advanced over LP Keagan and D'feeters? I just saw they lost in semis.

That's a good question FastPitch. I saw LP Keegan listed in the Semis earlier on the site, What happened to them and why didn't D'Feeters take that spot as the unlucky Group winner.

Based on points, it should have been LP Keegan. That's odd that it shows Sting Goodman. Maybe a typo?

Who won this event? Initially the site said Sting, now it says FCD Gold. I thought Sting would have a decent chance. Looking at the scores during pool play, I thought FCD may of been missing players.

FC GOLD definitely is a top team.   They are strong overall with great closing speed.  We enjoyed playing them along with other Lake Highland teams this weekend.
