LH's Six Games Left but only a few spots left.
Since LH's started doing the 20 team DI pool the general rule of thumb has been 25 points is the magical number to get into DI, there have been a couple years where 24pts made it and a year where 26 pts was the cut off mark. So I'm just using 25 as my imaginary line drawn in the sand again.
Teams that are in:
SRSA
FCD Gold
FCD Prem
Sting G
DT South
LP Elite
No shocker that the Top 6 seeds from the beginning of the year have all hit the 25+ point mark, they were the Top 6 for pretty much the past 18 months, throw teams 2-6 in a hat and pull them out, they are all that close.
Almost there:
DT
Sting Hilton
Cosmos
DT picked up a much needed win and now really only need to get a tie over the next 6 games to probably make it in. Sting H and Cosmos both lost this weekend but so did most everyone chasing behind them. Odds are still in favor of these three teams making it in.
Eight is enough
So for that one final spot in DI there are still 8 teams still with a chance, seperated by 4 points:
LP Rush
FWFC
FCD Red
Andromeda
LP Keegan
D'Feeters
Fever
LP Barnes
After looking at the schedules there's really not one of these teams that has an easier path than anyone else.
LP Rush has games against 4 of the 7
FWFC plays 2 of the 7 but also they have games against three of the top 9
FCD Red plays 5 of the 7
Andromeda plays 4 of the 7
Keegan play 2 of the 7 but also still has two games against teams currently sitting at the bottom of the league as well as two teams that are on the almost there list
D'Feeters have 3 games remaining against teams in the Top 6 so they definitely have the hardest road. Fever plays 3 of the 7 with two games against two of the bottom three as well
LP Barnes has 2 games against the other 7 and two games against teams in the top 6.
So it looks like they are all going beat up on each other over the last 6 games and I have absolutely no clue who is going to come out on top of this thing. Should make for some really loud parents.
The final 3:
FCD South
Sting West
Warriors
Two will drop to DIII, one will live to fight another day. All three teams lost fowards before the spring season started, one team to injury and the other two had players move to other DI teams I believe. So all three started the second half of the season in a difficult spot. Going to be interesting to see how they all perform down the stretch, literally one win by FCD South or Sting West just might be enough to secure their spot in DII next year.
Since the results from DIII haven't been posted I have no clue how that all breaks down, although it looks like its a three team race between Mutiny, Triumph and Sting Goodman to see who gets the promotion up to DII.

U11 DIII = 10 Teams
1st and 2nd place earn a BYE and move to DII
3rd thru 6th place earn a BYE and remain in DIII
7th thru 10th place do not receive a BYE and must re-qualify There will be 4 open spots for DIII in QT

Now that might all change after last weekends games but since there are no scores posted yet I have no clue.

If these teams were in a tournament, I would have no hesitation to say it would be a final between LP Rush and Fever, with Fever taking home the trophy. But league play is so different…

Certain teams are notorious for using guess players in tournaments. Can't do that in league play (except player pass now).

Yes. As long as games are on different days (ex Saturday and Sunday)

Come on. Inquiring minds want to know. Actually since Sting G, FCDP, DT and LPE all secured spots... All 3 could use CPP if they wanted to help sister teams. Highly doubt it will happen tho

Re: LH's Six Games Left but only a few spots left.
2012-13: 23 pts
2011-12: 21
2010-11: 21
2009-10: 24
So it didn't really take 25 pts. It just took more than the numbers above. Just splitting hairs, but a different perspective.
Anyway, after observing the first 3 weeks of spring, I do not think it will take the 25 points in the end. The eight teams fighting for that last spot will beat each other up and share the points so much that they will end up with 5 teams that have 19-22 points each.
I think the question is which team of the ones currently with 13,14 or 15 points can win 3 of their last 6 games? That is the team that gets the 10th spot.
Or, do you think one or more of those teams can win 4 out of 6?

You are correct, technically its all about finishing one pt above #11. It's really too close to call when you look at the remaining schedules because most of the teams fighting it out have quite a few toss up games. A couple of the teams will need to pull off an upset (a tie would be considered an upset in a few of these cases).
LP Rush - One loss (SRSA) and 5 toss up games. Could easily win all five of the toss up games, but could lose or tie them all as well.
FWFC - two losses (FCD P & Sting G, currently outscored 14-0 against teams in the top 6) four toss up games
FCD Red - 6 toss up games.
Andromeda - 5 toss up and 1 game against the Warriors
LP Keegan - 4 toss up games and games against the Warriors and FCD South
D'Feeters - 2 toss ups, 3 losses, and a game against FCD South
Fever - 4 toss ups and games against the Warriors and FCD South
LP Barnes -4 toss up and two losses (SRSA & DTS)
So when you look at the schedules, based on results up to this point in season, on paper LP Keegan has to be feeling pretty good about their chances if they can take care of FCD South and the Warriors. That would give them 19 points and would only need to find a way to probably get four or 5 points out of their other four games. When you consider they've tied more than any of the others in the group of 8 I can see them getting those extra points.
It's really going to make for some exciting weekends down the stretch.

Re: LH's Six Games Left but only a few spots left.
So now the newest questions will remain.
Will FCD Gold finally be named the real premier team for FCD or will FCD Red take over that title?
Will Jesse Diaz get all his '03s over to Sting and kick Gutierrez aside as the #1 Sting team?
What if JD only gets a few of his followers to join up? Not 70%? Now what?
Sorry to drop the bomb in the room, but the conversation was getting a little stale.

I think two teams in D1 is plenty for any club… some Red players could be the beneficiary whether they make it in or not...

Re: LH's Six Games Left but only a few spots left.
From rumors I have heard, FCDP tires to go to Sting with JD before the spring season started. 2 parents said NO....so majority seems to be jumping ship
I see them combining with Hilton more than Sting G..
Going to be interesting how this plays out

Unfortunately, they aren't all trying to "help" their sister teams. Some are trying to keep them from advancing.....

Re: LH's Six Games Left but only a few spots left.
Personally I don't think any of those teams should move a player to another DI team just to help them qualify and I would hope that they wouldn't. That's not what you are talking about I hope. I'm all for the CPP rule if used correctly, a team needs a goalie or a girl that has really blossomed down in DIII wants to get a taste of some DI games so she plays up one week. There's one scenario that I could understand and think would be fair that includes one of the top teams but other than that I can't think of any.
