What the heck happened in the Sting G game?

Fever scores 7? Holy crap! Complete breakdown? Coach didn't show up? 1st seal of the apocalypse has been opened?

I'd love to hear the story from someone that was there.

NFOD -- I was there....I've never seen anything like it. Sting scores 4 goals in the first 15-20 minutes and Fever looked completely outmatched by Sting's speed. I think maybe Sting let their guard down a little at that point and let up 2 goals before half and Fever took the momentum into half-time. Fever came out in the 2nd half and kept pressing.....and scored goal after goal after goal. 7 unanswered. You just don't see a 7-4 game anymore. Not sure where that came from, but gotta give Fever credit for not giving up down 4-0. Sting needs to forget this one and move on....the coach didn't seem happy at all after this one.

That was definitely a nice way of putting it

But ill be honest and say "Sting" needs a defense bad, offense looked good but back line along with goalie need some work. It was way too easy for Fever, taking nothing away from them but, with the caliber of team Sting is there is no way they should give up 7 goals.

This is shocking. I saw Sting score 4 pretty quickly and I stopped watching. Congrats to Fever for not giving up because most girls/teams would have. That kind of mental determination is rare at 11/12 years old. Seems Sting had just the opposite, mental breakdown. From what I saw Sting is a good team, this kind of game leaves one dumbfounded.

The 2 coach formula is not working for sting?, not a bad team but a weak, non physical defense, if everybody plays them like fever did, sting G probably won't make it in D1, may be 1 good coach is better than 2. FCD brass must be very happy.

How did the two late games finish?

Nice. The entire league combined scored less than Fever/sting Gut+Diaz. I would have liked to have seen that game.

Koba - Doing a quick scan of all LHGCL results, no other TOP Sting team in ANY division/age group of LHGCL has let in that many goals in any single game.

There were 3 games in D1 where someone scored more points against a Sting team, but these Sting teams were not tops in record; and 2 of the bludgeonings were at the hands of the "03 SRSA" of the 04 group, LP Elite.

'04 Sting G (ranked 10th) vs 04 LP Elite:  0-9
'04 Sting Angell (ranked 17th) vs 04 LP Elite:  0-10
'04 Sting Angell vs 04 Texas Spirit:  1-8

IN FACT, other than the above 3 games, you have to go to U15-DIII to find another Sting team in LHGCL (Sting Bruno) that has let in that many goals in one game.

While this may seem like a jab, it actually speaks volumes for the Sting organization. They field a lot of teams, and to only receive 5 absolute blowouts thus far in LHGCL is pretty darn good.

That was a shocker. Watching friends play, I saw the first 3 Sting goals and left. Wow. Sting and the Aggies.....

It was one game. They gave up more goals than normal. In the past few years, they have been a model of consistency it seems. The defense or keeper had a bad game. Or both. Not sure. Maybe they had a lot of players out, or something. They are 11-12 year old girls. Flukes happen.

A fluke would have been a tie or 1-0 loss. To give up 7 unanswered points after being up 4-0 is a little more than a fluke. That is down right embarrassing for ANY team.
