Most talented age group!

Let's switch gears and open up a new discussion. Hopefully this is will a clean debate and people will be able to leave emotions at the door. What age bracket in NTX is the most talented or has the most talented depth?

Purely from a Youth Soccer Ranking view. Top 20 teams from NTX by Age group:
07: 5
06: 4
05: 4
04: 3
03: 5
02: 1
01: 3
I haven't been around long enough to know enough as they age, teams moving from 9v9 to 11v11 and how that affects this. 03's and 07s have 5 teams in top 20 in nation though, so good start. I know some have dogged 07s as not being talented, yet have 5 teams in top 20. I'm just not sure if we have any YNT talent. Well, except the entire Solar Academy team!!

Interesting feedback, It looks like the older you get the less top 20 teams there are (exception '03). How does Youth Soccer Ranking take into consideration teams from other leagues. For instance, with the making of DA and ECNL. There will need to be some type of formula to determine this. Good info boilerjoe!

I honestly don't know how you quantify which group would be better.

It's hard to quantify. You could make the case that the 07 group is weak nationally, so what does it matter. The 03 group is strong nationally so theoretically they are that much better.
So if you have a top 03 I guess you have a thouroughbred. If you have a top 07 you might just have the largest runt in the litter.

Whoever has the most top 20 seems hasty. Maybe add up all the ranking of the age groups. Lowest total wins. Just because you have 5 in group? Top 5 or bottom 5. Can we get Copernicus to do a little more math please?

I think what you are starting to see is the top level players are converging in two just two clubs. Consolidation of the talent in NTX has been coming for the past 5 years.
Talent across an age group as an whole is hard to judge on just wins and national titles, but with the top players migrating into two maybe three clubs success is inevitable.

Seems Solar and Texans are locking down the most top 20 teams but will it stay that way? Many of the GA Texans teams seem to blow up soon after U12 or U13. No, I see a migration of players moving torwards two clubs at the U-12,U-13 age groups. Just my opinion, the third club will need to up its game on the girls side to retain players. My opinion is if they want to to to so they have all the resources to be a major player. The question is how many top level teams can NTX supply year after year. Three might be a little much!

Foxysoccermom is dead on. Maybe it was the heat that had all those 07s looking like REC kids this weekend. Smashing the ball up the field to VV's DD.
