We don't practice at the same time as Fever Red. I'm not sure when they even practice. I know that if they needed/wanted help, we would send players to help. We are already doing that for the 02 Fever team (as we are playing all of their 11v11 games). We also don't practice with them. In my opinion, it's difficult for the girls to get out there and work with each other at times. They just can't read the 02s like they can the girls they practice with on a weekly basis. Of course it's a bit different because there are normally only 3 02s that come to the games, one of which is the goalie. I know our girls are thankful to be able to help them though, as they are getting the experience on the 11v11 field that they need.

Just wanted to add that the GSSC goalie did an outstanding job yesterday. She made several great stops and we just kept pounding them at her. She never stopped! She was awesome.

Dang - you will not let me sleep on it - OK... Here it goes.

So we show up and there are 3 SRSA girls warming up - "What is up with this" I start asking - we do not need SRSA players. Im a little peeved as we have already beat Fever Red 3-0 the first go around.

So the game starts. The SRSA players are on the bench as subs - OK that is fine. Then we go into "bunch ball" as we have been playing the past two games...grrrrr..... Coach pulls the bunch ball girls out and puts in SRSA girls - it spreads out - pretty soccer starts to happen - Chelsea girls get a couple of scores. SRSA lefty scores (who is freakin amazing by the way) - Coach takes SRSA girls out.

Funny thing - only Chelsea girls were in - things stay spread out, pretty soccer still goes on... for a while. Then things bunch up again- Coach puts SRSA girls back in - what happens? yeah, you know, things spread out - team starts working etc. etc... SRSA girls come out.

It has taken me since 5pm to realize that this is exactly why we are with Solar. Coaches coach with the tools they have access to - wow, what better tools than other 9 year old girls who play like they are 15? It"s not about winning - its about learning - yes, it was at Fever Reds expense -but you know what? Fever Red has a big sister in Fever Black as well who could lend a couple of girls, spread Red out and make them play pretty soccer too. That one little blonde girl who plays her heart out up front deserves that - in my opinion....

Anyway, Yes, 3 girls from SRSA suited up - and I was NOT OK with it - but now, I actually am - and not because we won - because those SRSA 3 brought a different level to our team to experience and hopefully learn from. Could we have won the game without them? Yes, most likely. Would we have learned anything? No, most likely not...

Will SRSA girls suit up against Fever Black next week - probably so - but I am hoping it will be for the same reason - not to win, rather than to teach how to spread out, use your team, back check, look up - you know, play pretty soccer. If that happens, I could care less if we win or lose and I doubt very seriously Coach Ray or our other parents will either - well, unless we win, and they are the parents of Fever Black...

The game should be about developing players on your own team. The game was very close until the srsa girl's showed up. Same old story for this team. Fever was starting to put a lot of pressure on your defenders. IMO if the players didn't come in, you wouldnt of won. Good4nuthin you are very arrogant. You dont mind calling your daughter a "bunch ball" girl, but how do the the other parents like there daughter's being called "bunch ball" girls. Be careful because word's like these can cause a team to fold.

BTW-Your team has a dad that had the worst behaviour I have ever saw at a soccer game. He came to our bleachers and started yelling at a lady on our team. It made your team look very bad. Be careful.

I've seen some coaches use it as a coaching tool like good contends and I've seen others do it so they will win. Let's face it at this level it's about development AND winning so teams stick together and the checks keep coming in. It sucks that it's this way but the system is what it is. Plus winning games like this doesn't hurt the kids directly but more indirectly. Parents like to win and they see the final score and as time fades they seemingly forget the fact that the guest players had a real impact. Most DD's parents I'm around have outstanding selective memories. So eventually a tournament comes along and the guest players aren't there and now the team gets destroyed. 90% of the kids don't really care but I'd venture a guess that 75% or more of the parents do care. So the kids are fine with winning or losing but now the parents are pissed because their DD's team isn't winning like they are used to and then parents start getting pissed and bad feelings start to fester. So now the parents start looking around and causing drama and now the kids are effected.

Like I said I don't care who won the game and I've never seen either team play but I thought the topic of guest players was an interesting topic. It's a slippery slope.

99's Mom- Primetime scores were finally posted. You forgot to mention Fever lost to Odyssey 2-1 on Sunday as well. Did it slip your mind or was it selective memory?
