NTX Greatest Youth Teams Ever

Got to thinking about the history of NTX exceptional teams the other day and figured would be a cool thread to list them out.

We've seen teams have key pieces move on and lose their dominant position, but curious which teams at ANY point in their existence deserve to go down as one of the best ever in NTX.

So who makes the list? I haven't been around long enough to be anywhere close to thorough or to know who all did what....but candidates I can think of:

Sting 95?
Texans 95?
Texans 99 U11?
SRSA '01 U10 edition?

Obviously can't leave out SRSA '03 U10. Anytime a 5 page thread breaks out because a same age group opponent celebrates only getting beat 6-0, you've got to be a legend.

Hopefully some of the old timers will chime in on this.

Sting 95 has the most hardware. They have earned that piece of history around here.

Today, I must agree that Sting 95 is the best based on their long term record of success.

Sorry, not even close based upon measurables: it's sting 95.

But just remember where both sting and texans 95 (back to back 3rd place national finishes under Ryan Higginbotham)came from:

Says a LOT for North Texas and the 95 age group around here. 1st and 3rd place USYS finishers from North Texas. Two years in a row!

Sting has been around a long time and so has feet. Are there no other ntx teams with multiple national titles?

Not sure about hardware but saw these teams many, many times and all were very good:

Sting '79
Image '81
D'Feeters '84
Texans '85

The D'Feeters U19 team were the National Champions in 1981. Now there's some history.

92 txns won 2 nat championships and went to nationals at least 4-5 times?

As I recall, there were a string of national championships among the Texans and Sting girls 92-95 teams. I believe even the 94 Texans girls went all the way to the finals and lost in PK's. Solca's 94 Solar Red team was always strong and also won nationals. As mentioned, the 95 Sting and Texans teams were dominant. Did 93 Sting also win a national title? Can't remember. After that, I think it was the 97's.

My neighbor's boy played on a team that won Nationals twice - Andro 90/91. That's as a U17/18 I believe. I was very impressed given it was the older boy's division. To repeat requires so much dedication and luck, especially at the older ages.

I think I read in my sports almanac or watching Sports Century that SRSA '03 was just behind the Yankees and above the Celtics in terms of sports dominance.
