Guess vs Guest players

I don't get it...do people not hear the "t" at the end of guest which leads them to believe they are a "guess" player? I have probably read 3-4 posts now that refer to a "guess" player. Are we guessing whether they will play or not?

Guess players are players that parents want to change teams when the kids is perfectly happy with staying.... GUESS!!!

AH...much better.
Sometimes a person makes a typing mistake and then everyone else jumps on that person and their typo because the norm.
Or sometimes someone makes a nonsensical post such as "where guest players !!!!!!! when !!!!!! what time !!!!." and it is never allowed to die.
Its an easy way to spot a forum reader when you are talking to them because they say "guess players" with a smile, or blame a loss on the fact that "the grass was too tall."

The difference is in academy there is no such thing as an official "guest player" which requires a guest player form. Academy rosters are updated all the time with new players and since they aren't officially guest players they are referred to (on the forum) as guess players since you never know what you'll get with some teams and coaches

Guess players is a derogatory term applied to hired guns that are there to help a team win a trophy while shafting regular players. Guest players are kids the coach has a genuine interest in possibly joining the team....
