LHGCL Schedules
LHGCL Schedules
Is there any method to scheduling? Is the schedule just completely randomized? Do they seed you according to how you played in QT?

Like Blank said, scheduled will come out a bit piecemeal. 1st couple of weeks will come out only a week or two before the season starts. Remainder of the fall schedule usually comes out around Labor Day.
When my '01 qualified, I was able to figure out what position her team qualified in, and then by looking at the '00's QT results and schedule from the year before, I was able to figure out which opponents she would play in the fall vs. spring.
However, I tried to do that last year for the '02's using the '01's schedule, and was not able to do it, so LHGCL switched something up.
Don't know if it still holds true, or to what extent it matters these days, but the "qualifying order" used to be based on points, with tie-breaker going to the team from the "higher" bracket (i.e. Bracket A higher than Bracket B, higher than Bracket C, etc.)
For the '03's, the qualifying order would be:
1. SRSA (30)
2. Sting Gutierrez (30)
3. LP Elite (29)
4. Sting Hilton (28)
5. Dallas Texans (28)
6. FC Dallas Gold (27)
7. LP Barnes (27)
8. DT South (26)
9. TF Black (24)
10. FC Dallas Premier (23)
11. LP Rush (23)
12. D'Feeters (22)
13. LP Keegan (20)
14. FWFC Black (Week 2 - 28)
15. Andromeda (Week 2 - 24)
16. Cosmos (Week 2 - 23)
17. Sting West (Week 2 - 23)
18. FC Dallas South Blue (Week 2 -22)
19. Warriors (Week 2 - 22)
20. FC Dallas Red (Week 2 - 21)
For the '00's and '01's, the teams that qualified 10-13 ended up with the most brutal fall schedules, having to play a majority of the top 9 in the fall. From my recollection, the '02's schedule was a bit more balanced for most teams between the fall and spring, and like I said, less predictable in terms of figuring out Spring vs. Fall opponents.

That's correct, 1st week is usually set up that way.

Re: LHGCL Schedules
Sting West vs Sting Hilton
FCD Suarez vs LP Elite
Cosmos vs Texans Moreno
FCD Premier vs LP Rush
Beiber Fever vs Dfeeters.
FCD Red gets to rip the band off the fastest though with a Week 1 match up with SRSA, only would get easier after that.
Guess we will just have to wait a few more weeks to find out.

I just went back and looked at the '02's and last year, it looks like they used Goal Differential as the tie breaker for qualifying position, not bracket location. This would swap Cosmos/Sting West with Sting West qualifying as #16. All others would remain the same.

Re: LHGCL Schedules
As with most things, there actually is some logic involved. The challenge is in identifying the logic...SoccerPop wrote:Well they are apparently not following previous years. The first two weekends has quite a few string match ups.
Here is how they "slotted" the '03 teams... I say "slotted" because they didn't "rank" or "order" the teams based on QT points, as they have done in past years. They simply used a simple logic to place teams in slots 1-20 and set up week 1 matchups as 1 v 20, 2 v 19, 3 v 18, etc...
1 = Week 1 Bracket A winner = Solar Red
2 = Week 1 Bracket B winner = DT South
3 = Week 1 Bracket C winner = FCD Gold
4 = Week 1 Bracket D winner = LP Elite
5 = Week 1 Bracket E winner = FCD Premier
6 = Week 1 Bracket F winner = Sting G
7 = Week 1 Bracket G winner = Feet
8 = Week 1 Bracket H winner = LP Barnes
9 = Week 1 Bracket I winner = LP Rush
10 = Week 1 Bracket J winner = Sting H
11 = Week 1 Bracket K winner = LP Keegan
12 = Week 1 Bracket L winner = DT
13 = Week 1 Bracket M winner = F-E-V-E-R Black
14 = Week 2 Bracket A winner = Andro
15 = Week 2 Bracket B winner = FCD Red
16 = Week 2 Bracket C winner = FCD South Blue
17 = Week 2 Bracket D winner = FWFC Black
18 = Week 2 Bracket E winner = Cosmos
19 = Week 2 Bracket F winner = Sting West
20 = Week 2 Bracket G winner = Warriors

Re: LHGCL Schedules
I can't tell you how the LHGCL scheduling program comes up with the matchups after week #1, but I can tell you that the first 2 weeks of this year's '03 schedule are following the same exact pattern as last year's '02 schedule.SoccerPop wrote:Why about week 2? They have LP elite and dts matched up.
Week 2 is the following matchups:
5 v 1
4 v 2
20 v 3
19 v 6
18 v 7
17 v 8
16 v 9
15 v 10
14 v 11
13 v 12
The '02's slotting was:
1 = Texans
2 = FCD Premier
3 = Solar Red
4 = DT South
5 = Solar Dynamo
6 = F-e-v-e-r
7 = Waco Blast
8 = Andro Red
9 = Sting Rezaie
10 = FCD South Red
11 = Sting East
12 = FCD Blue
13 = Solar Gio
14 = Sting Parker
15 = Cosmos
16 = D'Feeters
17 = Dynasty
18 = FC Premier
19 = TFC
20 = LP Thompson
So using this key, and last years schedule as a guide, there's a good chance you will be able to map out your opponents this year. Keep in mind, the EXACT order may be difficult to determine, because field conflicts, rainouts, etc. pop up during the year and force LHGCL to deviate from their original schedule. However, it's likely that at a minimum, you can identify who your fall opponents will be vs. your spring opponents.
Of course, for all I know, DH could be reading this and may throw in his own scheduling tricks just to mess with us and throw me off his scent...
