where is this in the rule book
where is this in the rule book
It looked from our angle a clear push from the back
The offending player was not carded but the ref did send her off the field.
She was only off the field for less than 3 minutes
Never seen this before........

Break away at goal. Last defender comes in from behind with an elbow to the back of the head. A foul was called, but no card issued.
I asked the ref afterwards why a card wasnt issued. His reason..... "I wont issue a card until they are about U13."
Made zero sense to me.

Re: where is this in the rule book
We had one last week who watched a kid push another kid to the ground with 2 hands to the back. He obviously saw it since he "warned" the offender by saying, "no more pushing". But, he didn't even call a foul. Once again, making up his own Law.
I rarely get upset about judgement calls that differ from my view. But not knowing or applying the Law correctly is inexcusable at any age. For crying out loud, there's only 17 of them.

AMEN!!
call the game as the rules are written. if 5 red cards are shown and the game is forfeited...FINE WITH ME. Just call it as it is written, we can live with it. don' make up calls that you missed, don't owe a team a call blah blah. don't say play on when some 03 push from behind CALL THE GAME.
Thank you, back to our regularly scheduled programming.....

Re: where is this in the rule book
I get annoyed when a referee restarts the game after an injury or foul with a goalkeeper punt. That is not a valid restart. Most refs get around it by faking a drop ball with the goalkeeper and no one for the other team. I haven't ref-ed in a couple of years, but I believe that the laws of the game do not set a minimum nor a maximum number of players allowed to participate in a drop ball restart.

Re: where is this in the rule book
The only time I tend to drop the ball back to the keeper to restart is if the keeper had it in her possession when I stopped play. If they put the ball out of play I will then allow the opposing team to be sporting and play it back. You can have 1 player there for a drop ball or you can have more then 1.coachdom23 wrote:That is bad, unless in a college showcase.
