HELP! Newbie needs advice Empty Re: HELP! Newbie needs advice

Sounds like a learning experience, and as bad as it is, probably better for your DD then a release to rec. Maybe look for a club transfer if you think there is a better fit. You can always ask for a competitive release, but that is usually harder to swing.

I'm sure it has already gotten back to your team on who you are given the details in the above post, but I would almost warn to keep it quite if you are planning to split until near the end of the Spring season. Stay quite, play out the string keeping an eye out for next year. If the coach knows you are a lame duck player, her role may change significantly as he focusing on players that will pay his salary next season.

If by the end of March your situation is pointless, get that rec release, that allows you to guest and practice more freely.

Get a good skills coach to reignite the passion and work on her individual development.  Bite the bullet about the team, for your DD's sake, don't discuss the team/.coach issues you have in front of her.   Watch and discuss her observations and feelings about the team and help her decide how next years team will be selected.   Look for 3v3 and 4v4 opportunities with other kids.   Get a release to practice with other teams by April.     After each week's skill session review, and see how she applies it to her team's games or practices.

The original msg is gone, but I assume its an unhealthy situation and wants to leave the team. Can't they get a release at this winter break and try to start anew in spring?

She loves the team and the assistant coach. Driving 3 times a weeks past Arlington is a beating but worth it if she gets the skills development she needs. Our assistant coach has recommended someone for some individual training that we think is near the HEB area so we may look into that. Thanks for the advice Smile
