QT Seeding 04s
Based on what we have learned this weekend how would you seed top 10?
This is my take and commentary with top 5 being most clear to me: (Please let me know if any of my commentary is incorrect)
1) LP RASE : Some closer than expected results against some 04s but still undefeated in forever by them
2) DT South : Undefeated by any 04 team since last November, came out on top against Spirit and DT Scott in Shawnee
3) TX Spirit : Has beaten everyone else save top 2 multiple times
4) DT Scott : Has beaten everyone else save top 3 multiple times
5) LP Dalglish : Very few losses but not higher due to not playing and beating the other top 4 recently
This is where it gets a bit tough. Not sure what is more surprising, Owen and Odyssey playing so well or LFS not?
6) LP Owen : Played extremely well given tough schedule
7) Sting Chacon : Good TUT performance with win over Odyssey
Odyssey : Played surprisingly strong in TUT
9) LFS Black : Maybe biggest surprise in loss of performance, could just be bad weekend but who knows?
Ok... I just can't pick tenth..
10) Solar Wolf, Mustangs, Sting Donavan, Sting Guzman, LP Redkapp, GSSC Thunder, FC Dallas Premier
I'd like to think we would have higher Sting teams and wish some of the Tut seeding had been different. Looking at it, I can say there are many close and toughly matched teams outside of the top 5 meaning there could easily be some surprises come next weekend. Really tough job trying to seed this group.
Good luck all.

Re: QT Seeding 04s
2 Spirit if they win tonight.
3 Scott. Tough swarming team and good keeper. They are 2 if Spirit loses tonight.
4 LFS. Still think they are very good and one loss against top Scott team and good Owen team shouldn't drop them to 8 IMO.
5 DTS. Haven't seen them enough to rank higher plus they lost their striker to RASE.
6 Dalglish. Wish they would've played Tut.
7 Owen. Nice tourney. Played well in all games except when they were playing after tough game with spirit against a fresh Scott team.
8 Odyssey. Came out on top in 2nd bracket. Lost to Owen in late may.
9 A sting team. Not sure whether to put Chacone or Donavon here.
11 Redknapp. Solid team with excellent keeper.
12. Solar. Tough team still coming together.

So you are pretty much same outside of dts and lfs. Not sure how you put lfs above teams they just lost against as it was more than one loss and DTS has beaten Spirit last 3 times and Scott twice.

Re: QT Seeding 04s
2. Spirit - a close #2 and have really played well the last few months
3. Dalglish - Great team and realistically could be #2. I would not bet against this team.
4. Scott - some nice additions to the team
5. Dfeeters Black - will not matter where they are ranked they should cruise through qualifying
6. DTS - same as Dfeeters
7. Owen - best rise in the ranks over the last year.
8. Chacon - only 04 Sting team to retain its coach from academy
9. Donovan or whatever the name of the team is this week - Not sure what pieces are still there from when Scarfone was the coach, but should be a solid team
10. Odyssey - nice additions on defense
11. Solar - Very good coaching combo and my guess will end up finishing higher than this once the first year is over and the team gels.
12. Guzman or whatever the name of the team is this week - Put a beating on teams in Tut because they got put in the wrong bracket. Want to see how they do against top 10 teams.
13. Redknapp/Spirit North/Mustangs - one of these three should get the last #1 seed for QT.
Disclaimer - I do not have a kid on any of these teams and my DD will have to play one of these teams this next weekend. Opinion based on my DD playing each of these teams (except Rase) and watching Tut this weekend.

9. Sting Chacon
10 Odyssey
11. Lp Redknapp

And this is funny complaining about being in the top 13 with a Number 1 seed into QT. I think 11-13 will have the toughest road with their last game of QT as the teams get seeded.

Re: QT Seeding 04s
2. Spirit: Win TUT Platinum A Bracket with no loses
3. DTS: would have liked to have seen them play TUT; Shawnee Trail Champions
4. Scott: Win over LFS this weekend puts them at #4
5. LFS: expected better results from them at TUT
6. Dalglish: surprised not to see them at TUT;
could be ranked higher if they played
7. Owen: 2-0 win over LFS Black
8. Sting East Chacon: Win Platinum B Bracket
9. Odyssey: Platinum B runner-up;
10. Sting Donovan

Spirit North didn't put up a good showing in TuT. How can they be considered ahead of GSSC or Sting Cuevas

So you dump them 4-5 spots?
I wonder how much of that was hype. "Best player" never came across that way in our games. DTS had a hard time scoring goals but were difficult to even get a shot off on.
Good news is, I do agree you can make a case for Sting getting closer to a 5 spot.

Really? A "beating"?
Beat Texans 2-0. I don't think that was a "beating".
And you must have missed the Guzman / D'Feeters White game - 1-0 on an own goal header late in the game. Both teams fought hard and had good scoring chances throughout. D'Feeter's shot off the post would have put them up 1-0 mid-way through the second half.

It's a tough argument, BUT, but, DT South had way too many ties. They didn't win them and they didn't lose them.

There is that RASE double standard that gets me going. Maybe it's too many LP parents on here. I don't know BUT:
RASE is best team because they are "unbeaten" despite the fact they have not even PLAYED most of the top 5, but DTS HAS in fact played ALL of the top 5 in the past year and has come out on top EVERY time.
Sure they have a few odd draws, but who has beaten them? According to the RASE standard, you have to get beaten to move down right?
Makes no since.
I feel for you Shelbz, they just can't get no love!

Obviously you must be a Texans Red or Dfeeters White parent to get so riled up over my assessment. The facts are that Sting Goodman/Diaz/Guzman has been a good team for a long time ranked in the top 12 and they got seeded with teams that were ranked in the 20's. They should have at least been put in the second platinum bracket. You are right that I did not see the Guzman/Dfeeters game. Sorry that the would of, should of, could of goal did not happen, but what else is new. I will restate my previous statement to say that Sting Guzman put a beating on MOST of the teams in their bracket. Does that now help soothe your wounds of a loss at a 10 year old girls soccer match?

As your first post, we are so happy to have a new poster join us!
Never commented at all about the Guzman history, or their ranking. That's a good group of girls out there.
And nice of you to acknowledge that your assessment of the "beating" placed on the teams in Tut was based on . . . nothing.
So yes, Guzman has a really good team. And they put a beating on a couple teams in the 30s and had competitive games against teams in the 20s.
No wounds here. Sounds like you spent a little long in the heat today.
