It looks like all of the 6:30 games were shutouts, with one being a 0-0 tie.

Not scoring max points could be the difference between what division teams play in next year, better give all your daughters who are strikers some extra power gels.

This thing is all about the #2 vs #3 seed in their respective bracket. The #1s should win all their games, so the balance of D1 will be down to those games. Shamrocks and Thunder couldn't get it done last night and ended up with ties. And with no second chances at D1....they might be on their way to DIII.

I caught about 1/2 that GSSC/Harr game so my frame of reference was not the entirety of the match. What I saw was pretty entertaining. I would say it seemed GSSC had more opportunities and just could not get the ball into the back of the net (not discounting Sting in any way...except those new "chevron" kits - YIKES). Sting was game and kept battling. It was a fun experience to be there and watch the young ladies and their families taking that next step.

Plain and simple...Sting Harr was never really a threat. Thunder just could not get the ball in the net. They out shot Sting at least 12-2 and played with the ball in the attacking third about 75-80% of the game if not more.

and yet, the game ended in a tie
Which means, under the new LHGCL qualifying rules, GSSC must basically win their next 2 games - against ETUFC and Odyssey to have any chance at D1. (sure, we could see scenarios where ETUFC sweeps, everyone ties the rest of the games, etc.,)

Or worse. 14-15 points may not be enough for one of the top 8 seeds next weekend (or they may end up playing each other or another first round "surprise")
