PPL and APL

Ok, I know there is a lot of discussion here on LH, however just throwing this out there for grins. Who wins the Fall in PPL and APL?

Xfit, why don't you take a first try at it? I am not as well versed on the teams so I will have to do some research before I can venture a guess.   

unfortunately we dont even know what teams are in what division yet

For Arlington, they have two divisions A1 and 1A

A1: ASC or FC Dallas WTX
1A: Galaxy or Lightning

Best I can do. IMO, A1 is deeper than 1A

I agree with you on A1.
Not so sure on 1A though.
There are some new faces in the 1A bracket not much telling how they will do.

Cyclones didn't change much that I have heard of. Just a couple here or there. Haven't seen them in many tournaments this summer.

Galaxy pretty much absorbed the Samba team. think they only lost a couple of girls. Well see how they do with a full roster.

Lightning seems to have gotten better. Looked a lot better at LHGCL qualifying.

I think it comes down to Cyclones/Lightning with Cyclones taking 1st.

It's hard to tell...the 02 division has the #1 & #5 from last year in 1A. But new teams in both, and I don't remember how the rest all finished up last year. Maybe it is just a mix in both?

It is a mix of both... they roughly seed every team into two groups (1A, A1).

Each division has hopefully an equal mix of strong and weak teams.

Teams play each team within their division only for the Fall season.

At the end of the Fall they use those standings to resort the teams into a true D1 and D2 for the Spring season.. ( top 5 from 1A go into D1 with the top 5 from A1..... bottom 5 from 1A go into D2 with the bottom 5 from A1)

A1-Abilene ASC takes first . Almost didn't even have to look at who's there. Too bad that Lake Highlands plays a lot of middle of the week games. They used to have the potential to be a quality club.but they don't challenge themselves in playing at highest level. Understood that travel time and scheduling difficult . At least Arlington gives them a little competition .

1a I'm thinking that Texas Lightning edges the former champion, Cyclones.
Although I'm disappointed that TL is not playing in Plano this year. At least they challenge themselves to do better. LH QT. High level tournaments.
They are not content to hang out and beat weaker teams. Courage and effort are the strong suit of this team. You know what? If API switches brackets at midseason and get into A1, then I take Lightning.
They may not get the results all the time. But at least they fight hard.

the former champion, Cyclones. WHAT? ASC was champions followed by Galaxy. Don't remember where Cyclones ended up. 3rd or 4th it seems like. No where near champions though.
Their first game Sunday should be interesting as they match up against Galaxy.

My mistake. Cyclones maybe held a lead at midseason or something .there are no archives to pull past champions from. Congrats , Galaxy.

Congrats ASC they won! Don't have a DD on any of these teams. Used to follow this league. I know a lot of the players from a number of teams there. I totally agree with the comments above about ASC. They have always played good in Arlington. Would like to see what they could do in the higher age groups.
