01 LHGCL September Review
01 LHGCL September Review
D3 - based on a look at the standings, there are 5 teams with a legit shot at emerging on top this year. A far cry from last year when only two expected to win the division. Nice to see what Jazz is doing as a new qualifier. The fact that Jazz dared to play in the gold division for Plano Labor Day says a lot about their aspirations.
D2 - looking like a four-team race through six games and a big game each of the next two weekends among those 4 teams. FWFC Black has seen a nice turnaround from last year's results.
D1 - who knows what's going on here? Seems like scheduling has been all over the board with pre-season favorites (Kicks, FCD) having played only 2 games so far. While some other teams have played 5 games. Hard to get a read here.
Seems that getting scores posted in timely fashion is the largest challenge LHGCL faces....

I heard the other two games Saturday D3 were:
Frisco Fusion 2 - Jazz 0
Red Star 1 - FCD 0
Don't know the Sunday Jazz/Texans game.

D1 has been affected by the Premier League scheduling. Causing some rhythm and cadence issues for teams not involved in premier league. Also, can see some wild swings when ECNL players are available versus not available for LH games.
D3 - Jazz has definitely made a statement. Great for them!

Re: 01 LHGCL September Review
For D1, the gap between kicks and the field hasn't shown itself to be significant at the moment, if any. The trend past few years is kicks goes hard all summer and comes back to the field mid fall, then ramps up again by late spring in time for state cup. If kicks is going to take Ls in LH, I would expect it to happen this fall. Very difficult to play year round and maintain top form.
On scores not getting updated, I think it's a shame really. Screams lack of concern for service quality @u14 for a league that isn't exactly cheap. Premiere league and gotsoccer have their scores updated within a few hours, but LH still hasn't updated d1 standings from this weekend.
Does anyone know who at LH is responsible for updating? I see Sting's ultimatesoccermom is now on the LH board for our age group...maybe she can help.
