DIGC- Highlights Empty DIGC- Highlights

Post by Guest 07/04/15, 11:19 pm

I was going to just tack my comments on to the already existing DIGC thread, but I decided it deserved it's own topic line.

Our tournament was about what we thought it would be, with one notable exception.

The experience of hosting the Nuevo León team was far, far more rewarding than I expected. It was an absolute delight, for me and my family. All of the other Fever family's that hosted have expressed the same to me as well. I was able to convey this to their Coach. Those young ladies are well on their way, to becoming first class citizens of this planet.

Based on my experience from last week, I highly recommend hosting if you have the opportunity.

We hosted on two separate occasions for DIGC and both were incredibly positive experiences. Can't recommend it enough.

I saw a tweet (or some social media post) from one of the International girls that basically said that this was the best experience of her life.

I know there are people that love to stand around and throw grenades on anything and everything for whatever reason they deem, but this is a good tournament that is unlike any other we have ever played in. Hosting international players, like we have for many years, is the best experience by far.

We haven't hosted a team or players, but I am glad that the experiences have been positive. We played the NL team, and they played hard and fair. The game was exactly what you would want in a match. There were fouls and some bumps, but nothing dirty.

They seemed to be totally enjoying the experience...we did too. I agree, for all the bashing this tournament took on here, it was another very positive experience for our girls. I understand that some teams and age groups have a gripe, but we were happy overall. It was cool to play NL, and it was cool to play an ECNL team in the QFs. We didn't like the calls that went against us (haha), and the drive at 5 was awful, but for our dds, it was certainly more positive than any minor negatives. They were tired and sore, but felt that getting to play there, against that level was a lot of fun!

Thanks for hosting the internationals Fever and the others who did, it made the tournament more fun, and if they can brag about their experiences to others, it may attract more teams in the future.
