FC Dallas showcase

Congratulations to Solar Chelsea for taking their bracket at the FC Dallas showcase tournament this weekend. We faced some tough opponents, but won all three games. Great job girls!

Excellent job. It was a lot of fun to watch.
If I may . Sting Parker and Guests also had a great tournament. Taking on the #1 team in Oklahoma, the Mississippi state champions and a top five nationally ranked ECNL team. All the while only surrendering 2 goals was noteworthy. Hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to seeing you all next year.

I'm assuming everyone is aware this was a showcase, not a competitive tournament? You don't win Showcase brackets. The only goal, if I understand "showcase", is to allow players to get exposure for college.
Note: Sting Central played a Canadian team, not a Mississippi team and OFC. And I'm pretry sure FCD is not a nationally ranked ECNL team.

Sting Parker had 3 ties. Against a Canadian team, OFC and FCD ECNL 2000.
The OFC team had previously beaten the Parker team 5-2 in Premier League. The tie against the FCD ECNL 2000 is a good result for the Parker team.
Hard to tell how all the teams did in the Showcase as some teams only played 2 games and some played 3. Great showing by many of the NTX teams, Good job and looking forward to the DIC.

Well, I do know that Solar Chelsea won all of our games and was at the top of our bracket, Back. And yes, you are right, showcase tournaments are for the players to be seen

I can say that it was great to see so many different teams in the tournament this year. We were in line to get a tournament shirt and some of the Canadian players were behind us. It was fun to hear them talking French to each other. The girls were from Quebec and Montreal. We also got to play against teams from Louisiana and Mississippi. I think it was a very good showcase with good diversity in teams. I have to say a big thank you to FC Dallas for the tournament.

Top drawer had some messed up rankings. Prior to Houston showcase they had 1 Real Co. 2 Sting 3 Eclipse 4 FC Bucks 5 FC Dallas. It was including league plus showcase performance . No dishonesty on my end.
But rankings are BS anyway.
And I agree with back. It was a showcase. Not must win games.

I don't think I indicated that they were must win games or that winning a bracket was a necessity. The games were for the girls to show their best to coaches. I was just happy that not only did the girls play their best efforts (and we had a good number of college coaches watch our games) but the efforts also showed in the end results. We have had showcase tournaments where our players were looked at favorably where we did not win too. So, agreed, not must win games, but nice results all the same.
