Re: LHGCL Byes
Possibly true. Never looked at very close till this year. To me it seems to be in line (except for 3 youngest div) to what it would normally be for QT. Close anyway.soccerjack wrote:KeeperCommander wrote:Watch it Jack. Thanks for the clarification.....the point was about how many spots were open because of all the changes.

Re: LHGCL Byes
I heard some Div 1 teams opted not to play 'Lake Highlands' and play 'Champions League' only.
Also, any surprises on teams not making?

I believe all answers will be clear after this Friday. I believe all rosters must be in by that time. Then I also believe LH has the painstaking job of going through and checking rosters to see where teams are currently and whether their roster numbers allow them to stay in the division they claimed. So my guess is, we won't really know for a week or two where certain teams fall within the divisions until then or whether or not teams made for each age group.

Can you clarify roster number comment? How many previous players must be on team to claim bye? I know several team that don't look anything like last year. Does the bye go to the specific team (with X amount of previous players), or to the club...and they can hand it off to any team within the club? Thanks.

I'll field this one. Yes, Clubs can and will hand that bye off to any team.
LH has a 50% rule which states that if a team claiming a bye retains less than 50% of the players that actually earned the bye, then the League may review that team's roster and assign that team to the division deemed most appropriate. In this age pure transition year, with 50% being a challenging feat, I'm told that the League will look for at least 50% of the players from the same division (1,2,3) as the team that earned the bye.
