Dallas Texan Molano are looking for 1 or 2 competitive players to add to our roster. We have a very strong core of girls and are looking to add some competitive girls to the roster now, as we play this last season before qualifying. Coach Willie would like for the team to play together for a season before going into qualifying..

Looks like someone got presented some "alternate facts"...

Nope and good catch.  Parents, take note of this and other similar promises/hints/representations about JDL.  Don't give into the recruiting tactics of coaches promising JDL for your team or your DD.  But more importantly, don't base your DD's career on where her team plays at U11 and 9v9.  In my opinion, it is entirely short-sighted at this age.  If you end up on a JDL team, you are satisfied with the coach and the league, then great.  But, at this age, so long as they are getting good training, getting better, and playing with friends, then just as good (or better).  I've seen way too many DDs (really their parents) chase the status only to be disappointed in the end.  Trust me, if your DD gets her training in and is ECNL or DA quality when that rolls around, the Big 4/5 aren't going to turn her away because she wasn't on one of their JDL teams at U11.

I should add that I have no idea what Texans teams are JDL bound and this wasn't directed at Molano's team.  But there sure seems to be some confusion in the Texans about who's been promised a spot.  And while I strongly encourage teams to figure out their rosters now, a season in advance of qualifying, I wouldn't take January promises as being all that meaningful.

I thought Nguyen was getting your top players JDL....hmmmm
