Yori Broussard (FC Dallas 01G White) commits West Virginia

FC Dallas 01G White's very own Yori Broussard has committed to West Virginia University! Join me in congratulating Yori and her parents. She will represent NTX soccer very well.

The West Virginia University Mountaineers spent seven weeks ranked #1 in the nation this past year in NCAA Division I and made it to the NCAA College Cup Final (national championship game of NCAA soccer). WVU set a record this year by shutting out every Big 12 opponent and not allowing a single goal in conference play. West Viriginia's defense will only get stronger in the future with Yori coming aboard as a defender in 2019. WVU was 23-2-2 this season.

Added benefit, Yori and her twin sister Enzi were both offered and were able to commit to WVU and the sisters will be able to play college soccer together.

Congrats Yori. From LHGCL DII to playing for #2 team in nation. We are proud of you more for who you are off the soccer pitch.

Congrats to Yori.  It goes to show that while there are advantages to ECNL, DA, whatever, great coaching, player commitment and great playing at any level can get you noticed.

Will she play for the same team next year or is she moving on to ECNL or DA?

I imagine she wants to challenge herself to play at a higher level like the other girls who have also committed to WVU

We need to see more of these types of posts on the boards.  Why?  Because they are informative and they are a great way of sharing experiences.  When you look at any D1 College roster, it is loaded with ECNL players.  But there are many ECNL level players in Lake Highlands D1 or D2.  Maybe families don't have $15,000 per year to pay for soccer (multiply that by 4 and you have a good portion of the likely out of pocket tuition for many schools and even more if your DD is a smart student).  Many parents don't have the time to travel out of town every other weekend either.  

Parents and coaches, if you girls commit to colleges, post it on her and share something about how that occurred.  Yori's story is a great one.  Congrats Yori
