FBR09 Rankings February 18th, 2019

Updated 09 FBR as of 02/18/19. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 8/25/18 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.  

FBR ranking may look a little different, but I had to mess with the Tiers to try to get the best outcome.  Voutier has not lost but, since they are not playing any 09 Teams that are ranked in the top 10 it drops their rankings.  I also  removed so many games on the back end it changes the top 7 teams a bit.  

FBR09 will also include any 09 teams playing against each other in the 08 division.  As long as the teams that are playing up are not using 08 players when playing against each other 09 teams.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

Updated the tiers and also included games vs ESC, since we already have data on this team and they are a common opponent for NTX teams.

Based on my observations of the top teams, it seems the Youth Soccer Rankings USA data is starting to trend more accurate. The FBR methodology always made sense to me, but with the former Rush team dropping to #4, along with some other differences between the two rankings, I'm not as sure this time. https://youthsoccerrankings.us/rankings/TXN/10/Girls/

Could there some errors in this edition? FBR says the former Rush team hasn't played any top 10 teams, but a quick look shows they've beaten two top 10 '09G teams since the data starts on 8/25/18. I'm not sure whether those two wins would materially affect their rank or not, but the explanation is contrary to the gotsoccer data.

I have no idea how the data is fed into the software...manually? Automated? I am sure it's a lot of work, so not trying to be critical. There have been some errors corrected in the past, which is totally understandable, so just sharing the observation to the extent a double check might help. And, if the data is clean, then that's also interesting as it relates to the differences between the FBR and Youth Soccer Rankings USA data.

ProD where are you able to see that FBR doesn’t show wins for former Rush in the data, I do believe they are still top with SS very close.

I think there is another team in the top 5 that’s a bit of a head scratcher at least with their point total but what do I know.

Do yourself a favor and do the eye test. Defeeters still the best 09G team, with Solar South and Solar Angelone close behind. Texans Scarfone and Solar Colvin can also give any of these teams a run for their money. Will be fun to watch these top teams play one another next year in Lake Highlands select.

Clearly DFV is the #1 team even though rankings don’t show it. They simply don’t play enough 09 teams to boos the FBR ranking. I’d be curious who the head scratcher is, Checkthesource? The top 5 is clearly the top five with no questions.

Not saying top 5 teams are not the top 5 teams, point total and placement within top 5 is a head scratcher though. Check the records back to 8/25 for each top 5 team against other top 5 teams and then against other top 10 teams and you can draw your own conclusion.

There is DFKV “Rush” then the next 4 a step below them. The exciting thing is that the next 10 to round out the top 15 are improving and much more competitive... that’s good for everyone.

I say top 5 is pretty accurate. Everyone know Rush should be ranked 1st, but they only have 1 or 2 games against top 10 teams in the last 6 months. Most of the top 5 are either playing boys or 08s in their secondary league other than jr classic league. With that being said some of the top 5s may not play each other that much.

Also i think the national rankings count all the games. If FBR were to count all the games, not just 09s in north texas maybe it would be look similar to the national rankings

I don’t think DKFV care about rankings...that’s why they don’t play as many 09 teams. They should be #1 not only in NTX, but also in the nation.
