ECNL/DA

does anyone know which coaches/clubs are going to have ECNL teams for 07? what is the deal with the new pre-DA league? is there a separate league from classic?

Solar and Texans will have ECNL, FCD will not. They don’t have ECNL for girls either. The PreDA is probably just a way coaches can charge more. Key is to find a good coach. More than not, those ‘top’ coaches suck.

USSDA for U12 is going away. US Soccer has already announced that. They are expecting the Clubs to continue to provide this type of training/games going forward. The Pre DA league was organized and put in place by the existing DA programs to replace the U12 DA. Everything will basically be the same as it was under US Soccer, but will allow more flexibility, such as more tournaments, playing 2 games in one day, etc..... It is for U12 only. So, it does not pertain to 07s.

sounds like you know quite a bit about DA. where are a lot of the 07s going? back to classic?

I honestly believe that the majority of 07s currently playing U12 DA, will actually stay and play U13 DA.  Many of the programs strategically built their current U12 groups with a large amount of 08s as the second groups (4 of the 6 local teams did this). This allows for the clubs to expand the core of their top groups going into U13 as the roster sizes grow to accommodate 11v11 play.  Sure, there will be some 07 kids who don't make these DA rosters, but the majority of those 07s will be offered ECNL. FCD is the only big club that doesn't have ECNL currently for U13, but that could obviously change between now and August.
