We’re less than a month until contracts for our 09 DDs. Things seem about ready to get “turnt” up. What’s everyone seeing out there among all your teams’ open practices? What teams are breaking up and sending good players into the market? I’ve heard of several teams with solid players on the move. Much of it, but not all, has been shared on this board. What are you seeing that you think will significantly transform the current 09 team landscape?

I haven’t heard of any substantial moves with the teams I know people on. That doesn’t necessarily mean anything at this stage though. I’m most curious about what is happening at FC Dallas. Webb has gone to Sting...did any players go with her? Might divide some of the talent we saw shared between Webb and Marin this spring.

We’ve heard of the Evans team shifting and have heard Scarfone Salsa moving on. Also, we’ve seen the Angelone-Colvin players moving around. Who else? Why would Salsa be moving? Those folks have always seemed so loyal to the coach.

Solar Angelone-Colvin is no longer and Solar Evans might be another team that experiences some exodus. Webb is now with Sting so, I also wonder what will happen with the FC Dallas “super” team. DT Salsa is losing players because of the cost...that’s what I’ve been told.

Also, I saw a recruiting post for 2009 FC Dallas JDL below. I thought JDL was discontinued after 2008s. Is this still a thing and if so what are the other JDL teams?

The cost comment may not necessarily be comparative to other select programs but rather to other necessities of life. When you have a pay to play scheme, financial means and talent do not always align.

From what I have heard... Webb will not be taking any FCD players with her to Sting. Jamie Lovegrove is taking over that team. Many people consider this an upgrade. So if anything, this will probably strengthen the FCD super team and help recruit new talent.

Not speaking to any specific rumors b/c I don't know...but don't clubs lose teams and coaches every year? They also gain teams and coaches as well. We have already started to see some of that with multiple coaches.

I'd check with the coach/manager about estimated tournaments and costs before signing. I know of 08 teams that spent say 3-4K (not much travel if any) and know teams where parents spent 11-14K last year. The club fees are approximately 2700-3500 depending on the club.

Seriously ask questions before signing. It's ok if you have no budget but be informed going into it.

Seems like a lot of the top teams are still recruiting. I would think rosters would be locked or close to it at this point.

Solar Evans/Megli lost a top player and Goalie the last month JCL, then another 2 at the end of JCL. All 4 players left Solar for now and play on separate teams, 2 ranked top 10 NTX. Solar Megli has also acquired some new players so I think the rest of the team will stick together and continue to play.

Sure is quiet out there for almost June 30. Some top teams still looking for another player. As we head toward TUT, will FBR share the latest update? With a lot of changes among some top teams, will FBR still hold up as a great reference point for QT seedlings?
