Season Coming To An End
Season Coming To An End
-Texans seem to have enough depth on their bench to overcome losing two good players this season, but still didn’t improve enough to knock off Sting. They are now in a race for second best with ‘Feet for whatever that’s worth. Their win against ‘Feet yesterday seems to indicate they still have an edge on ‘Feet.
-‘Feet seems to have made a lateral move with the five new additions to their team this season. Still, it would have been interesting to see the outcome for ‘Feet this season without those new additions.
-Solar seems to have taken a slide this season, and certainly didn’t improve. But, with only three games left for them they will most likely still end up fourth best.
-For the rest of the group FC Dallas, Sting Blue, TFC, and FC Dallas South there is still some uncertainty on who will hold on to their D1 bye:
-FC Dallas will have to overcome several injuries to hold on to their bye. They had a tough game yesterday against Sting, but hopefully gets players back soon to finish strong.
-Sting Blue needs a couple of ties between the bottom four to hold on, but also considering they have two tough games left against Solar and Sting the outlook is dim.
-TFC still has five games left, although two games they can count on losing. But, a win or two and a tie in their last three games will probably be enough for them to hold on to their bye.
-FC Dallas South had a good win against Sting Blue yesterday, and clearly still has good talent left. But, it might be too late for them to recover, and there are too many variables to consider listing.
Will all this really matter going into next season considering the ECNL vs LH issue? Who knows?

Re: Season Coming To An End
Looking like:
#1 Sting #2 Texans #3 Feet #4 Solar ... basically just like it's been since we went select at U11.
Not sure what LH will do about D1.
ECNL:
Sting
Texans
Feet
Solar
FCD
D1:
Sting Blue
TFC
FCD S
The top half of D2?
How can they drop any current to D2, given the reality of ECNL?
At one point I heard TFC was trying to get ECNL ... any truth to that rumor?
Any others that might fit? Liverpool? Could Solar Red be considered a separate group?

The word I've heard is that Liverpool applied for ECNL this year and was denied.
I'm thinking they have to wait 2 years to reapply.

now this is the kind of old-time post I am looking for. I am not NEARLY eloquent enough to have pulled something like this off, but i say "WELL DONE".
Course, Texans does pull Sting this weekend and no matter then end of year standings, I am hoping for some friendly blue-blood. :-)

Re: Season Coming To An End
Is it a done deal that LH will not allow Sting,Texans,Feet,Solar,FCD in the league next year? If it's not a done deal when will the announcement be?
If there is the exodus of 5 spots in DI, I suppose there the additions of: (I'll take current standings)
Sting Royal
ASG
Then the next 3?
Solar Red
Sting West
Solar Royal
That is logical, BUT the DIII winner will be upset, because typically they end up in the Top 5 of DII. Polaris in this case, I'm sure they'd like a challenge...

No the DIII winner normally goes to the bottom of DII. Just as the DII winner goes to the bottom of DI. Polaris would end up in the middle of DII if LHGCL takes 5 from DII

Gonna have to poopoo on the idea of any DIII team having any chance of "challenging" into the "new DI". To do that, they should have earned their way into DII the first time around. Be happy with the promotion that you earned....that is just the way the ball bounces.

Thanks BigBoy! Kenshi would probably do a better job, but he had been absent lately. Good Luck! Against "blue".

Well done Rayados. Yeah, where is Kenshi? I actually miss his insightful commentary.
Sting v. Texans this weekend should be awesome to watch.

The truth is that girl's soccer was a lot of fun early on, but it isn't my top kid's sports interest now that I'm wrapped up with my son's 7th grade football, 7v7 football, basketball, grappling, and track (Bragging now ... he won the 800m in the Plano Middle School Meet tonight!).
