Sting is going to play Primetime May 13-15 and 27-29. What I don't know if they are playing up in the age group.

Summer Classic: May 6-8
Cup Championship: May 13-15
Summer Shootout: May 27-30
The amount of competetion in the '03 divisions will determine if SRSA will play up or not.
Jamestren, looking forward to your girls coming down from Oklahoma to play. No more jabs about the past.

Thanks! We had a nice warm up against Dynamo, and I think we fared pretty well. I know SRSA is another level though, which is why I look forward to the chance to play some of the top clubs. Win or lose, I think we can compete.

Extra touches on the ball against the top NTX teams will be a win/win for your club.

Then I vote for you to be the ref.

We played in WSA tournament in the Tulsa area. Solar Dynamo teams came up and played. Did you play the Red Earth Invitational? No offense against our neighbors to the West (OKC), but the level of soccer out there just isn't there yet so we don't bother with tournaments over there (my others kids teams won't either -- their "best" 01 boys team came over to the Lexus cup a couple weeks ago and took dead last).

That makes sense a couple of our games got quite ugly, and we played up in u9(silver). Oklahoma does have some big girls I swear they had to have been 01s. They did have very nice 1st place medals though.

Yup... Although, to be fair, U8 "gold" teams generally will beat up on U9 "silver" teams in tournaments. Think about it.. The top 02 teams play up to 01, the good 02 teams plays own age gold, and the bad 02 teams play own age silver. At this age, the bottom 50% of teams (anywhere) are just not very good. I am glad I am not in the tournament organizing business because there is just no way to lay it out and guarantee a good bracket. Even in the WSA tourney, the best bracket would have been the top three 02' teams AND the top three 03' teams playing gold, and the rest of the 02's and 03's playing silver. The Blitz United Invitational in the Fall here in Tulsa does the best job of that of any tournament I have seen.

Meant to add... Get your coach to commit to the Primetime May 27 tournament. Sounds like Sting and SRSA are going.
BTW> I guess I should ask since I have no idea. We play 8v8 up here. Are these Primetime tournaments 7v7, 8v8, or 9v9?

We will play at an appropriate competition level depending on the teams entered. That would include SRSA and DTS. Whether or not that is u8 or u9 I don't know.
The format should be 9v9 with a size 4 ball and 2" grass.

Solar Kennington 04 played in the Tulsa tournament last weekend also (played up against 03's) and had to face the Oklahoma Texans 03's in the first game. Everyone told us they were the best 03 team in Oklahoma so we knew we had little chance of winning. We were just happy to score a goal against them. They will give our best 03 teams in North Texas some serious competition. They look very solid from top to bottom.
Solar 04 did win their next game and lost in the semi-finals by only one goal to one of the best 03 teams in Oklahoma. It was a great experience for our girls to play in Tulsa.

The 04' Solar team played great! In fact, I honestly thought they were a better team than the 03' Dynamo team. We only beat 03' 4-0, but we left a lot of goals on the field. We beat the 04' team by a few more, but I honestly thought it was a better game. That 04' team is going to be a force.
>> I'll brag on my DD a bit and add that she was the one who put up a hat trick+ on both teams (although I should also add she is far from a one man show -- the team is pretty solid at most positions)....
----> A little worried about 9v9 format though. We are probably not as "deep" as most teams are down there, so the extra body and position change could cause issues... BTW, what's this "size 4 ball" you speak of? ;o)
