The Vulchers Are Out

Wow, 10 of the last 11 post are from teams looking for players. Coaches hold onto your kids because this is going to be a bumpy ride.

Gosh, calling them vultures seems a little harsh. Just teams letting folks know they are looking. If I was looking, I'd appreciate the info.

Typically when a team goes from 9v9 to 11v11 it requires more players/subs....so needing more players is fairly common at this age.

For those that are biting at this... just look at the type of person that would start a thread like this - calls people a 'VULCHER" come on... learn to spell first! SHEESH!

It's just part of the annual recruiting.
How do you build and improve your team if you don't advertise that you're looking for positions?

Looks like someone is afraid of losing players off their DD's team Seriously though most teams right now that haven't been playing 11v11 carry a roster of about 12 to 14 kids so as it gets closer to going select teams are going to need to add more players. It's not about being vultures it's about trying to get the best team together as possible and it's something that every team, from SRSA to whatever the equivalent of them on the lower side of the scale, is currently doing.

At this point if your daughter is being asked to come out to practices or guest play then that's probably a good thing, all teams want the best. Being asked to guest play or come out to a practice doesn't mean the kid is going to switch or that the new team will even want your DD. Now if you get asked back multiple times to play then it's pretty safe to assume the team wants your DD, if you don't get asked back then it was a free practice or a few extra games and maybe a trophy for a tournament. If you are asked out and you play and then you aren't asked again then your decisions are made for you Pretty simple process.

I was told this a long time ago when I was starting out with my oldest, the NTX soccer community is pretty small and the last thing you want to do is burn bridges. Unfortunately people have long memories. So I say enjoy the last few months before it starts getting crazy. Let your DD experience as many different styles as possible, then make your decision, if you have any real decisions to make when all the dust settles.

Just be thankful there is a forum where they can post this info. Coaches and over-involved parents used to lurk on your sidelines and whisper to you as you headed to the parking lot
