Oklahoma \ South Texas teams at Texas Cup dominate

Well Well Well, It looks like the Oklahoma and South Texas teams came down and took three of the four championship game slots. Solar Red is the only North Texas team to make it to the finals.

TEXAS RUSH 99/00G NIKE BL lost to Solar Red in the Gold bracket.

OKLAHOMA FOOTBALL OFC 00 won over LONESTARS 00G RED STH (TX) in the Silver bracket.

Was not the strongest field

Most programs still play 8v8 or 9v9 until 13/14. Traditionally that produces better equipped players. IMO you're seeing that play out more and more. Girls are more technical and have a tactical awareness that NTX players don't have....well we're just not as proficient across the board.

So IMO not new, it's just showing its effectiveness

My kid played in the first "showcase" age of U15. Every bracket was won by a NT LHGCL team.

I'm sure there are better teams to be found to represent OK and South Texas...but there are also better teams in NT than the ones that entered.

The team sitting in first place in Oklahoma entered the Silver bracket so I don't expect that it should be a surprise that they took first. Not exactly an even playing field.

The Austin team that ended up in finals didn't dominate the North Texas teams. Go back and look at their tourney record.

I also saw the Gold semi-final game between Sting R and the Texas Rush. It was a beautiful game and the teams were equally matched. Rush just got lucky at the end. Sting R beat Solar Red who then beat Rush.

As so eloquently stated by Zen in another thread on this forum, "don't confuse the moon with the finger pointing to the moon".

the OK/LS game was a good game it went into OT. LS team was up 2-0 at the half.
