08 BOYS team preparing for academy Empty 08 BOYS team preparing for academy

Post by good4nuthin 14/01/13, 10:06 am

I know this is the GIRLS forum ( I have posted on the boys as well) - but many of the DDs (like mine) have little "bothers" running around stealing their soccer balls and wearing their hand me down gear...

I coach two 08 boys rec teams in Coppell (scary, I know). From those two teams I have a solid 6-8 that I will form an academy team with next fall. For the spring season, I am having my academy hopefuls attend a futsal class on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 in addition to our regular outdoor rec practice on Wednesdays.

If you have an 08 BOY who shows the potential and interest to play at a higher level, PM me and lets develop some base skills and get them practicing with a team that will potentially play an 07 Boys division in the fall.

I have a '10 boy who goes to all the soccer games and can actually say "Messi", among other skills. He learned to walk about a year ago, and can run pretty fast but not straight. The only thing that may slow him down is a full diaper. Do you change diapers or do they need to be potty trained to join this team?

My '10 is potty trained... just not at nap or bedtime... that should give an advantage over a full diaper. Can't teach speed.

G4N, if you are easily offended, you prolly ought to find other places to hang out than with soccer parents on a soccer forum. Sheesh.

I wasnt attacking you as a person, just making a funny observation that any younger than 08s and they would still be in diapers (maybe some 08s still are at night).

Sorry if you took offense. I hope you have perfect parents ahead in your coaching future.

No offense taken - 5 year old boys need to get out of the house and blow off some energy - anyone who has one will agree - we just do it with other 5 year olds and play soccer.
