I loved hearing that the last time he started in that position Costa Rica beat us 3-1. WOW...

And it's hard to follow the ball in the snow. Close Ups are good but the normal view is not.

Dead wrong about Beasley. Even a few years past his prime he put in one of the best showings on a U.S. back line I've seen since Cameron first laid claim to center back at Azteca. Klinsmann hasn't impressed much at all but he made a good choice with Beez last night.

He did what was needed, but was caught several times to far upfield. On a normal night that may have ended differently being caught like that.

Ill take the 3 points, but beasley isnt the answer back there.

He's definitely not the long term answer - too old and not a true left back. But last night we needed points, and he did the job. Several have him down as man of the match. Give credit where credit is due.

I would say it should go to the whole team. It wasn't pretty, but the pulled it together on top of the crap talkers early in the week to get those points last night.

I would really give kudos to the CR players for agreeing to continue play.

Azteca is next, the team better be ready. The pitch wont be covered in snow and should be nice weather in that cauldron. Could be sitting top of the group after Tuesday night.

With Mexico up 2-0, I switched over to basketball. What happened? Our guys better be ready...

Considering the circumstances, I thought our back line did pretty well. Cameron and Beasley were both pretty good overall, and though Beasley did get caught up too far a few times, his hustle and recovery (as noted in the TV commentary) were quite good.

That was certainly an exciting game. The most amazing thing to me was how many times Altidore (and Dempsey) were CREAMED without calls. I thought the result was about as it should have been, but man there should have been several calls to set up kicks in our offensive zone that were missed. What I really liked through all of that was that we didn't put our heads down and pout or whine about the no calls...Just gutted up the whole time and kept playing hard. Thought the work rate was solid.

Mexico ended tied. We currently sit in 2nd with 3 points. Getting out of Azteca with a point or 3 would be great.

If both teams agreed to play on in the second half, why is CR now protesting and calling the game "an embarrassment to football"? Sounds like some serious sour, frozen grapes.
