Expert Skills Instruction Ages 8 and up DFW Area

My name is Ian Kalis. I have done individual/group skills since 2006. I grew up in the Dallas area where I attended Jesuit as a 3-time All-American. I was a member of the U-15, U-17, U-18, and U-20 Men's National Soccer teams. I attended Duke University to play soccer for a year and then transferred to SMU to continue playing and to continue my studies. I was drafted by FC Dallas in the 2012 MLS Superdraft and remained with them for the 2012-2013 year while obtaining my degree from SMU. I am currently living in the Plano area but am willing to drive to you or meet somewhere that works for both. My rate is 50$/hr for 1 on 1 instruction. For 2 kids 30$/kid. For 3 kids 25$/kid. Sessions last 1 hour (60 minutes). Thank you!

Haha. Please, do not take the age requirement the wrong way. If you know your child is willing and interested in doing a skills session I am more than willing to make exceptions. The reason for the age in the topic is because I have had some negative experiences with younger ages.

The younger the player, the bigger pain in the a$$ the parents.

You just have to learn to charge more for those. Every headache has its price.

You have to factor in the potty breaks and quite time (for the parents) of course! It is so much fun as a coach to have the parents watching every second of every practice....wait that was me just a few years ago.....sadness.

I watched this young man since U-11 under Marcio and I would recommend him on his playing ability and his Coaching he had at the most important ages (U-8 thru U-12) I actually have a soon to be 8 yr old that I may drive to you! Thanks for the post Ian

Soccer consulting is readily available as well! I.E. Attend one of your daughter's games and assess her strengths and weaknesses as a player. As well as giving you/her drills and exercises to improve in weaker areas. Same hourly rate as skills sessions. Thanks!

Ian, I've asked this before and would still like to know where and when?

I run the majority of my sessions at Carpenter Park. At least, for the clients that it works best for. I do set up my own sessions. Parents contact me and we set up a time for a one on one session (sometimes the player brings a friend(s). I do not run group sessions for people to attend. Hope this helps!
