If you are looking for a team to  join that has been increasing in performance and getting stronger in competition while keeping the main thing the main thing, then Liberty FC 99G is a team you need to visit.  We finished in the top 6 this season in the Plano Division 1 this season and were semi-finalist in the Carey Tournament. Just a year before were were ranked 37th out of 40 teams in the Plano Competitive League.  Now that is a big jump for one year.  We have a bye in the Plano league for 2013/2014 season. Some background on Our team: We have players from the north Metropolis region ((Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD, Northwest ISD, and Liberty Christian School, Flower Mound schools).
Liberty FC is also a budget friendly alternative in the high cost world of select soccer. We have our own full size field with lights. Those who may not be participating due to the economic downturn or that think it's just too expensive, come visit with us. We might just be the alternative you are looking for.

Coach Kourtney is our coach.  She played select soccer at the national level and played in a national championship game.  Later she played soccer for Dallas Baptist University as a captain.  Her identity is in Christ and uses soccer as a way to teach Biblical principles.  See her wish list  below:

Forward- Liberty FC is looking for a forward that is a scoring threat. Good technical skills will be required and speed is preferred but not absolutely required if the player has a savvy soccer mind. This player should be excited about taking players on and want as many one on one opportunities with defenders as possible. A forward should not lack confidence, and it will be the coaches job to prepare the player in practice so that they have been taught the proper runs and skills to increase the players confidence. A forward must be a warrior that is willing to take the responsibility of the teams wins and loses on their shoulder. Most of all, we are looking for a forward that is competitive and wants to put in the work every game to do what it takes to win.

Center mid- Liberty FC is looking for a center-midfielder that is creative, smart, and has excellent technical skills that will allow them to get out of crowded spaces and make the appropriate passes to the forwards. A center mid should have the ability to learn all facets of the game and how the formation of the team should be run. Our center-mids are called to the leaders on the field both verbally and with their work ethic. These players are the heart of the team and should be the most knowledgeable players on the field that can help verbally direct both the offense and defense. They should have excellent vision and awareness and be able to see multiple options at once and then make the best decision.

Keeper/Defender- Liberty FC is looking for a player that can play in the goal and on the field. We are seeking to have two keepers on the team so that they can be instrumental in training each other during practice and push each other in skills sessions with a keeper trainer once a week. A keeper must love the opportunity to make big saves and have the ability to stay focused even in a game where they are not making saves constantly. We would like to be able to use the keepers on the field in the half that they will not be playing. It will be most beneficial to the keeper to play on the defense so they know how the defense is supposed to be run. They are better able to connect with the defenders if they play on the line at times. That being said, playing defender is not an absolute requirement, but it is very much preferred.

The Purpose is to prepare players for the highest competitive soccer in an integrity based-positive character environment.
Practices are held in Bartonville, TX which is surrounded by Flower Mound, Highland Village, Denton and Roanoke. The full size athletic field has lights and is located on private property. It is a family friendly environment with a lake for fishing, playing ball or just relaxing (private park environment).

1) I would like to have 16 girls on the team. We have to have 14 for Lake highlands. I want 16 because I want to allow my players that participate in other sports and school activities the opportunity to a little less pressure on their shoulders if they have to miss. I have 10 "returning player"(i.e. commitments)  now. Xxxxx is one of those at the top of my wish list! I think she has some great skills and a competitive quality. We would love to have her........ We need just a few more players like her and we will breeze into Lake Highlands.

I am the founder of this independent team and I know the facts. 
Since the May tournaments we have and do have 17 additional girls seeking this team in one degree or another.  Just like our coach said, she would like a total of 16.  


18 is the max. for Lake Highlands.  Maybe we get in, maybe not.  Only He really knows.   We do have a bye in Plano D1.

   Our Coach's wish/prayer list seems to be fulfilled.  We all know that by the end of day tomorrow we will know for sure.  We had an awesome open practice period.  We finished out this period with a soccer campout with practice on Thursday night, cleanup, dinner, smores around the camp fire, team game(capture the flag contest) then a Bible study, fellowship and finally sleep. The girls woke up after staying in a large wedding large tent with all comforts of home(AC), and had breakfast and morning practice.  We finished out the day with a team bonding event to Lake Grapevine, kayaking.  Girls had a blast.  Girls went home exhausted and to sleep in their own beds.  Saturday morning, we has a scrimmage in which the new potential players played with last years team. Some of the girls played in positions in which they never played and were surprised.  Coach tried different girls at different positions and learned a lot. After the scrimmage we had a huge BBQ with all the families.  That was really fun, everyone was getting to know one another, great fellowship time.  Whole families were there.  it really felt like one big family.  And it was so easy and natural.  It seemed like everyone volunteer to do everything. We were just blessed. Afterwards, we had a pre-team meeting to speak about who we are, and why were are.  Coached talk about her heart for the girls and summer mentoring one on one programs.  She also talked about a mission trip to Moore Oklahoma, in which the girls jumped at the chance to serve the unfortunate families and children that lost everything in the storms recently.  They will have a soccer camp for the children .  There they will share their faith and hope with these young people.  

    So why am I sharing these things, who cares, right?  Well, we do.  Our girls love soccer and this forum is a soccer community.  We seek like minded  teams and players and ones that have a desire to know more of why we do these things.  We want to share life with one another and with the community.
   One of the things we learned in our scrimmage is that we need to get better performance out of our keeper position.  So we are opening up that position for a EXPERIENCE FULL-TIME KEEPER.  This position was not on coach's original wish/prayer list.  Our old prayer list seems to be answered. Now we have another one.  LOOKING FOR A EXPERIENCE FULL-TIME KEEPER!

I applaud your efforts and sharing the word about your team. I have been involved in small clubs for 20 years and understand that for some of us it is more about the players and their personal journey then just winning a soccer game. Some of the friendships and life skills they develop now will be with them for a lifetime.

Please do not listen to anyone on this forum providing negative feedback. Enjoy the time with your players...we don't have them for long and every minute shared with them is a blessing...!!!

    Ok, our last post was over 7 days ago. Seems like a life time went by, but I will try to update.  We had 11 players recommitting from last years team.  We had a total of 29 players guest or tryout for the team.  We could only have 18 players on the team as you know. So guest how many invitations to join the team we sent out?  You got it exactly what we needed it.  The principle is this,  when you think God makes a plan and you follow it(as hard as that is), He provides only what you need., not what you think,or what they think, but what He thinks. We got 7 committments with 7 invites.   It just all came together. There were no hurts or disappointment that we knew of.   But that was just midnight right after the 1st of July.  Remember our keeper situation?  As our coach and I agree on praying about this sitation, our coach  received a phone call just a few hours after agreeing on praying about this situation(Sunday afternoon)..... it went like this....are you the coach of Liberty FC 99G?-yes....did you play for xxxx at  DBU-yes....did you play for the national championship in 1991 on coach xxx team?-yes....well my name is xxxx and I was your keepers skill coach for your 1991 team and I coach skills for some of the top keepers in the country and some of the national team keepers.  He said, I have heard of your team(on this forum) and I like what you guys are doing and I want to help.  Can I provide some keeper skills training for your team.  Our coach almost fell out.(me too-that was quick...)  We had just prayed for divine help.  She said of coarse and set a time for Wednesday am.  Our keeper recommited to excellance Monday night with two other field players desiring for additional training on keeper position(by the way a keeper is a good soccer player that just so happens to be a keeper) . Anyway,if that wasn't enough, our coach gets a call from the keeper skills coach on Tuesday morning. He says, Coach xxxxx wants to provide a practice for your team.  Our coach was thankful, but she asked who is he?  He said well he is from out of town and he is staying with me and is my friend....he is or was on the coaching staff for U 14-16 girls natiional team.  He also believes in what you guys are doing and wants to help.  So Wednesday morning, we had an awesome  morning of prayer, practice with working hard, and just a great time.  Also it was a confirmation for the returning players and the new players that have taken a risk to play for a little independant  club. Seriously, national coaches training the Liberty FC 99 G team just days after committing,   That was and is awesome and in some circles unbelievable. And the coaches want to come back and help prepare the players and our coach for the up coming season.  To finish out the week....the girls are off on a mission trip to Moore Oklahoma to provide a soccer clinic for young athletes who were affected by the recent storms.     They will have a chance to share their faith and soccer.   God has a plan and when He shares His vision of that plan, He will also provide the provision for that vision.  Please pray for the families in Moore Oklahoma and the missionaires. PS. Liberty FC 99G team starts preparations with 2 a days at end of this week and beginning next week for Lake Highlands Qualifying Tournament. We know we need  prayer for our team to work hard and prepare, so please consider praying.  It works.

Here we go again, a new year and a new team with renewed aspirations and hope. Here is a quick update on Liberty FC.   After the girls got back from the Mission trip in Moore Oklahoma last summer, we started two-a-days. Our 1st game playing together as a team was the 1st game of Lake Highlands qualifying games.  1st half we had approximately 14 to 2 on goal shots and leading in 1st half.  Then we got over confident and yep it happened.  We went down 2-1.  Next 2 games we win and missed Lake Highlands by just a few points.  We ended up in PPL Div 1.  We then won the Fall 2013 Championship with 7 wins and 1 loss.  Just 3 seasons ago we were 2nd or 3rd to last place out of 40 teams.  It was a huge accomplishment for our team and just was where we needed to be, in Plano Premier League.  During the winter we lost 2 players(not to other teams, but other things like time available to commit to playing competitively.   School commitments in soccer and other sports somewhat interfered with the spring season games.  PPL Div 1 teams just beat up each other. The champions only had 4-4-1 and we had 3-3-2 and we were in 5th place.  It was a very tight race.  We missed it by 4 points.  
    So open practices are coming up and we do have guest opportunities at end of this month in Cleburne, Texas which is not an overnight situation.  Then getting ready for LHGCL qualifying tournament.  We have several new players coming to practices and looking for more committed players.   If you are interested in more information please go to:    https://libertygirls99.shutterfly.com

      We had a great time this weekend and played higher competitive teams than we have been playing. Our 1st game was our best in which we out scored them 2-1.  Our 2nd game was against a good 98 team and was in a draw 1-1.  Both teams were ranked in the twenties.  Then next morning we played a LH D3(ranked in the middle-in good shape and well coached) to a draw 0-0.  We did not bring our A games to the last two games, but coach saw improvement.  So we are moving forward gracefully .  Out of two guest players, one of them are for sure  coming to our open practices in June.  We have a lot of hope for the other. They are what we are looking for in players. Very competitive and high desire to do what is good and right.  We believe that at least 4 will come.  Our creator has always provided for this team.  Faith, Family, and Friendship!
