1 nil Sting west over Meja Williams.  They did not take my advice from last night.  Dominated  us first  half more even second. Weather wonderful

FC Dallas Wtx 2 HPSA Scots 2. The game was called early by the ref. A very ugly end to the game. Too much emotion involved by both sides.

Hopefully not the parents. Hate for the kids to get robbed a chance of a win in QT because of mom & dad. Gopher, do you have stat regarding reason tor called games - coach, parents, kids, combo?

Hate it when parents cannot control their emotions and the kids suffer bc of that... Good win for celtics!

Scots forward and Fc Dallas goalie collided and Scots player was hurt in the process. Scots coach said something to the goalie when he came onto the field to check on his player. Goalie's dad came onto the field and said something to the Scots coach. That's when the craziness ensued. Pushing and shoving on the sides. There was about 5 minutes left in the game and with all the emotions getting out of control the ref called the game. A very unfortunate end to a hard fought and physical game. Both teams played their hearts out.

Looks like the results are in. Celtic with 29 and 3 teams with 28. So who gets the last D1 spot?

So then the two teams going to D1 are Celtic and Sting FW?

I am assuming that Sting wins the tie breaks for the teams with 28 points.
Spirit North goal diff = +10
Andromeda goal diff = +8
Sting FW goal diff. = +11

So who's made it into D1, looks like Celtic and can't tell if Sting FW is in or not nothing posted to PPL

They are posted, but stats section did not allow more than 3 points accounted per game, which shows tie eventhough Sting actually has most goals at 11. So, did Sting get D1 win?

The way I read it is more than a 3 GF differential in a game does not help a team's cause in any way (i.e. the mercy rule is in place). It appears to be a 3-way tie for the second D1 spot. I suspect this decision could go to the Competitive Committee:

Team Standing:
Team standings will be based on the following scoring system:
Win = 6 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored, (max of 3 goals)
Tie = 3 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored, (max of 3 goals)
Loss = 0 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored, (max of 3 goals)
Bonus = 1 point is awarded for a shutout (opponent not scoring)
Forfeit = Scored as a 3-0 win and a total of 10 points will be awarded

Tie Breakers
Tie Breakers will be determined in the following priority:
(1) Point Total
(2) Head to Head
(3) Goal differential, the number of goals scored minus the number of goals allowed
(4) Most Goals scored
(5) Fewest Penalty Card Points, the card points will be figured using one point for each yellow card and two for each red card.

It a appears to be a 3 way tie, correct. I don't see where any team has a goal differential advantage all 3 teams have 7 goals for and 0 against. All other tie breaks being equal it is a solid. 3 way tie.

Meaning I doubt there where any yellow cards or red cards handed out to either if these teams.

That being said, what to do?

1 team is ex LHGCL, 1 team returning PPL D1, and the other I am not sure how they finished last year

Interesting, does PPL tie break based on previous rules on offering open slot after head to head play and a 3 way Tie or do they give it ranking PPL team which by-law do they place most weight on or does PPL offer a tie break PK shoot out.

My vote is for a 3 team head to head playoff and shoot out next if they don't have time for anything better

So what would the committee look at? Compare the resumes of the 3 teams? If so, Sting FTW was an LH team last year whose requalification came down to the last game. Additionally per PPL "rules", Sting FTW should have received a bye into D1 base on N+1 and since other teams didn't return. They shouldn't have had to play the PPL QT tourney to begin with. Lastly, Sting FTW defeated one of the other teams in the LH qualifier 4-0. That says something in my biased opinion!

I tend to agree. I'm thinking FW Sting will be given the spot.

I think Sting FTW beat Spirit North 4-1 actually. Nevertheless, Sting FTW definitely did very well in round 1 of the LH qualifier while both Spirit North and Andromeda Red got pummeled.
