Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
In light of this revelation, I will have new scouting reports available on Monday for all coaches at Goody Goody liquor store in The Colony around 5pm. Payment is one half pint of tequila for each scouting report. 100% agave please. If you want accompanying pictures, my hubby is a fan of malt liquor...

It's good to see the new and improved fields (2 & 3) at UTD will be seeing action for the first time this year

Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
Our team played on field 4 today, and it seems to be as bumpy as it was last season, lots of unpredictable bounces. Were 2 and 3 looking better today?cjsskillsofpain wrote:Why don't you get there at 8am for some quality DIII action too?

Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
I'm still trying to figure out why DM was even there. And don't forget, they are SRSA. They can do whatever they want. Don't you ever forget that.easydoesit wrote:So anyone at anytime can just walk up and start coaching a team if they are getting beat.... Very interesting! I thought you had to be a named coach on a team to eve be able to be on the team sideline let alone coach -- so DM must still be tied to the '03 Team even though they are playing up in 02's. Now that's comical -- bet the parents loved seeing that all play out yesterday with DM taking over

Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
Im not affiliated with Solar in any way, but isnt DM a Solar coach? Wasnt the head coach not there? My dds teams have other coaches for the club they play for fill in all the time....sometimes 2 coaches will fill in. Its pretty common. DM I believe coaches Solar00 team and a Solar 06 team...maybe more that I dont know of.easydoesit wrote:So anyone at anytime can just walk up and start coaching a team if they are getting beat.... Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
I made it out this weekend to catch all the games, except the Sting W/Warriors game (which would have been cool to watch Shannon Boxx coach the Warriors). From the best I could tell from the small glimpses of most of the games the Top four teams are still the best of the bunch. Eventually over the course of 60 minutes they seem to just wear teams down. Now at this age you can control a game and still end up giving up a long ball counter goal so there's always a chance these teams can all get beat but most weeks they are going to win. I thought FCD Premier and Sting G both played well and are pretty close (in my opinion) to be in that group with SRSA, DTS, LP Elite, and FCD Gold. I know Sting G lost on the first week but they seem to be playing much better. I didn't get to see the 3 other LP teams or Sting Hilton but I am curious as to what happened to Rush. They were a team on the rise six months ago but now they seem to be struggling. Hopefully they can fix whatever seems to be the problem.
DT 03 seems to be taking advantage of their early schedule by winning every toss up game. Get the points while you can but they've helped themselves out by winning. A little surprised with the play of the Defeeters, they look like they've regressed from the last time I watched them. Could be a long season for them.
Nice day to watch soccer.

Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
By "call it in," I'm sure you mean put DM on the roster because WE ALL know the rules...if you aren't on the roster for the weekend, you can't be on the sideline...and if you are coaching, it is reason for forfeiture.GrandTXSoccer wrote:It's not like Dm is soccer Moses and whenever he raises his arms and staff SRSA scores and when they are down they lose. I'm sure if Solca was gone then they called in to say who was going to be coaching.

Those that doubt DM's affect on the 03 team don't get it. People wonder why the 03 SRSA team has been so dang good, it is 100% because of DM. Yes, he had his 2 stars that are now playing with the '02's, but he always has been the 12th man on the field for those girls.
His very presence settles them down and he gets them focused like no other Solar coach can. Watching him coach those girls in the 2nd half was like watching a conductor in front of a symphony. He was continually encouraging them and having them shift their positioning, having them fill gaps, having them press. All of that was absent in the 1st half and because of it, the mighty SRSA was down 2-0 to the Cosmos.
By the way, that was the first time in a long, long time that SRSA had been down 2-0.

Re: Week 4 LHGCL D1 Predictions
SRSA has been down many times 2-0, even as recent as last season - in the top boys division that is... Now down 2-0 at the half to an 03 girls team? I have never heard of or seen it. They are lucky DM just happened to be "hanging around" the fields Saturday - more than 3 hours before his 00 team played.NoFanOfDrama wrote:By "call it in," I'm sure you mean put DM on the roster because WE ALL know the rules...if you aren't on the roster for the weekend, you can't be on the sideline...and if you are coaching, it is reason for forfeiture.GrandTXSoccer wrote:It's not like Dm is soccer Moses and whenever he raises his arms and staff SRSA scores and when they are down they lose.
