01 LH D3 Poll October 5 2013

No games are scheduled this weekend, so to generate fun constructive discussion, what is your surprise team at this point?

Given that they were forced to requalify to get back into D3, Texas Redstar gets the biggest surprise vote from me at Fall Season's halfway point.

Lady Aztecs is making some noise, too.

This poll should be done again in late November.

Excellent point regarding Redstar.

I had selected Kicks, but upon further review, I looked at Kicks schedule and they have lost to the four top teams (currently, in the standings), so their record is probably misleading. Seems like they have a little more offensive punch then DT red and Sting Central, but that's based on current stats. Maybe Kicks is more a mid pack team then what their current place is.

Looking forward to the Sting North vs. Lightning match up in November, may be for the Fall Season bragging rights. Possession/Finesse versus Long Ball/Brute Force. Maybe a NTX version of Beauty and the Beast?

Or maybe Kicks Blue aren't very good at league play but excel during a tournament pool-type format (several games over short period of time). They just beat Redstar in QT didn't they (pool format)? If Redstar put the whipping on Kicks then like they did this past weekend then they might be sitting in PPL instead of last place in D3. I don't think they'll stay there since they will likely get wins against Sting & DT Red (those 2 teams wins will only be against each other), but probably won't end the season higher then 8th....................maybe 7th if they can win 1 game against FC Dallas or Strikers.

Really don't think there's any surprises so far. Maybe Cosmos since there was talk of them having quite a bit of turnover, but their wins are against the bottom 3 teams. Ask again mid-November.

A factor in that game's outcome will be how tightly it is officiated.
